The Work You Will Do:

  • Lead cross-functional teams, guide complex technology deployments, and advise clients on how to scale compliance engineering, privacy risk management and data governance practices in line with global regulatory expectations and business objectives.
  • Lead privacy technology strategy and implementation engagements for large-scale clients, specifically leveraging platforms such as Microsoft Purview (e.g., Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, Data Lifecycle Management) and OneTrust (Data Mapping, Consent Management, DPIAs, Vendor Risk Management).
  • Partner with product, engineering, legal, and compliance teams to operationalize privacy and product compliance programs, especially for digital platforms, AI-enabled services, and cloud-based environments.
  • Provide strategic guidance on global privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CPRA, India DPDP, APAC frameworks), cross-border data transfers, and data subject rights management.
  • Lead assessments and readiness efforts for emerging frameworks, including GPC (Global Privacy Control), AI risk assessments, and privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs).
  • Drive the development of privacy and data governance architectures, working closely with enterprise security, cloud, and compliance stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to client executives, presenting complex regulatory and technical matters in a clear, actionable way.
  • Contribute to practice development by mentoring junior staff, refining offerings, and supporting go-to-market initiatives.

The Team:

Enables trust and safety of online communications and digital products, protecting users, consumers, and patients from harm. Enables clients to provide consumer confidence in knowing with whom they are dealing and ensuring the integrity of access to data.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in privacy, data protection, product compliance, and/or broader digital risk management.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated success in leading technology implementations of Microsoft Purview and OneTrust at enterprise scale.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
  • Ability to travel 25-50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience advising or working with platform companies, tech providers, or regulated industries (e.g., health, finance).
  • Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies, responsible AI principles, or data ethics frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of privacy operations, including records of processing, automated decision-making governance, incident response, and vendor risk.
  • Exposure to security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2) and how they intersect with privacy and compliance.
  • Proven leadership in client service delivery, team management, and stakeholder engagement at Fortune 500 scale.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to bridge legal, product, and engineering conversations effectively.
  • Relevant certifications such as CIPT, CIPM, CIPP/E/US, CDPSE, or IAPP Tech Certs are a plus.
  • Advanced degree (JD, MBA, MS) preferred

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $175,300 - $322,900.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
