Regulatory Senior Consultant – Enterprise Operations & Risk

Our Deloitte Regulatory, Risk & Forensic team helps client leaders translate multifaceted risk and an evolving regulatory environment into defensible actions that strengthen, protect, and transform their organizations. Work You’ll Do
As a Regulatory and Risk Senior Consultant, you will play a critical role in helping clients navigate complex regulatory environments and manage risk across their organizations. You’ll leverage your expertise to deliver strategic guidance, implement risk management frameworks, and support compliance initiatives. This is a client-facing role that blends analytical rigor, project management, and stakeholder engagement. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Interpret and apply regulatory requirements: Advise clients on the impact of evolving regulations (e.g., technology, data and risk management) and support compliance strategies.
  • Gap analysis and remediation: Assess current client practices against regulatory standards, identify gaps, and develop actionable remediation plans.
  • Regulatory reporting: Assist clients in preparing regulatory submissions and managing interactions with regulators.
  • Risk assessment: Lead risk identification, assessment, and prioritization activities across business processes and technology platforms.
  • Framework development: Design and implement risk management frameworks, policies, and controls tailored to client needs.
  • Monitoring and testing: Develop and execute risk monitoring programs, including control testing and risk analytics.
  • Project management: Oversee multiple workstreams, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work products.
  • Stakeholder communication: Present findings, recommendations, and reports to client leadership and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., compliance, audit, technology, legal) to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Research and analysis: Stay abreast of regulatory trends and emerging risks, contributing to internal knowledge sharing and client education.
  • Mentoring: Support junior team members through coaching and skills development.

Our professionals address client needs which span the organization and impact strategy, operations, performance and reputation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (JD, MBA, MS) or relevant certification (e.g., PMP, CAMS, CISA, CPA, CSSP) preferred.
  • 4+ years in risk management, regulatory compliance, or consulting (industry or professional services).
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies, regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST, SOX, GDPR), and data analytics tools.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of business processes, regulatory requirements, risk management, internal control management, processes, data and technology controls, or related standards and frameworks in the regulatory reporting space
  • Knowledge of the structure and roles within the regulatory risk function at a tech or media company or within a regulated industry, including execution and oversight processes, risk assessment, reporting, controls, testing, or data analytics
  • Strong relationship management and project/program management skills, with a commitment to excellence and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience supporting or leading proposal development and presentations
  • Experience with GRC and compliance technology/tools
  • Experience supporting business pursuits, working in client services, and communicating with executives
  • Advanced degree and/or certification (e.g., MBA, CRCM, CPA, PMP, CFA)
