Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in New York, New York.

Work You’ll Do
Work to understand company-specific business and tax issues and work with the company to optimize its tax position to identify and mitigate risk areas. Assist clients in streamlining their tax compliance process, especially in the area of partnership specific tax calculations, including Schedule K-1 preparation and corporate tax calculations, including the calculation of book-to-tax adjustments. Assist clients in various industries with: Life Events for Partnerships (formations, terminations, mergers); Inside and Outside Tax Basis Computations; Section 704(c) and 743(b) Computations; Schedule K-1 processing; and development of custom technology solutions to streamline the compliance process. Review income tax provision calculations for inclusion in financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable tax and accounting standards. Develop client service relationships and facilitate specialized Deloitte Tax services to improve compliance with taxing entities while maintaining each client’s overall tax risk profile. Apply federal tax compliance principles and work closely with clients as well as the Deloitte Tax team to further clients' global goals and strategies and align them with industry and economic trends. Mentor and coach junior team members. Will commute within the New York, NY area to consult with clients concerning the above job duties.

Requirements
Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or related field (willing to accept foreign equivalent) plus eighteen (18) months of experience as a Tax Senior, or related occupation, gaining experience providing tax planning and compliance review services for financial services corporations and partnerships.

Experience must include 18 months of:

  • assisting clients with taxable income computations, including calculations of tax liabilities for corporations, and allocations of taxable income on schedule K-1s for partnerships;
  • calculating book to tax differences, including fines and penalties, meals and entertainment, depreciation, and stock-based compensation to determine taxable income for corporations and partnerships;
  • performing complex partnership computations, including tax allocations under IRC 704(c) computations and basis adjustment computations under IRC 743(b);
  • preparing and auditing income tax provision calculations for inclusion in client financial statements;
  • collaborating with clients to assist, design, and streamline their tax compliance processes, including partnership-specific tax calculations, allocations through tiered partnership structures, and Schedule K-1 preparation; and
  • utilizing research platforms, including CCH, and tax return software, including GoSystem and Corptax to provide tax compliance and consulting services to various clients.
  • Less than 10% domestic travel required outside of normal commuting distance.

Annual Salary: $81,620.00 - $151,580.00.
