What will your typical day look like?

Our ambition is to build best in class products that deliver value to our customers and businesses in a repeatable and scalable way and to be the thought leader for building and incubating Product within Deloitte.

The Solution Architect focuses on designing products, leveraging the latest technology and industry best practices, to create robust technical solutions. They play a pivotal role in understanding product goals and ensuring the architecture and technical design are sound, scalable, and aligned with these goals.

The Solution Architect works closely with the Product Manager and Tech Lead and is often thought of as a trusted advisor who works with the build team to refine business needs into a well-defined and cost-effective solution. They must manage technical risk and create compelling products that remain flexible for future growth.

Solution Architects must remain current - keeping up with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to incorporate innovations into products.

Ultimately, the Solution Architect is responsible for designing products and solutions that align with business objectives, are technically feasible and scalable, secure and maintainable.


Responsibilities:

Product Architecture & Design

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their goals and vision, translating business needs into a product architecture and technology solutions
  • Understand non-functional requirements and work with the Tech Lead to recommend a tech stack (e.g. hyperscaler, 3rd party integrations, development languages, etc.) that meets these requirements
  • Ensure that the product architecture is “well balanced”, meaning it is not over-engineered or optimized, but is also scalable, secure, maintainable, and technically feasible
  • Plan how the product will integrate with existing systems and applications, ensuring smooth data flow and compatibility
  • Ensure the product architecture and design incorporates security features, compliance standards, and data protection practices
  • Work closely with the Tech Lead to ensure the proper infrastructure is setup

Collaboration and Leadership

  • Work closely with development teams to implement the design, ensuring the solution is built as designed and effectively solves the identified business problem and provides a good user experience
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to Tech Leads and developers within the team, ensuring they understand why design decisions are made
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment between both sides

Risk Management

  • Identify potential technical risks early and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Clearly state any assumptions that are made and their impacts on the product architecture
  • Ensure that the product architecture and key design decisions are documented and kept up to date as changes are made

Monitoring and Refinement

  • Continuously assess and adjust the architecture to overcome any unforeseen technical challenges or business requirement changes
  • Provide ongoing support after launch, ensuring the solution is running as expected, addressing any emerging issues, and facilitating continuous improvements
  • Proactively identify areas for optimization and improvement in both existing systems and new products

About the team

The Deloitte Nova group serves as our proprietary software product organization here at Deloitte. We oversee and nurture a portfolio of client-centric software products. Our portfolio encompasses SaaS, on-premise, and in-cloud products, tailored to our diverse clientele and subject to a cyclical product development life cycle.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

Required:

  • 5–8 years in software/cloud engineering; 2–4 years in solution design/architecture responsibilities.Experience on end-to-end complex cloud-based projects.
  • Experience on security and compliance fundamentals.
  • Structured decision-making with trade-off analysis and documented assumptions.

Nice to Have:

  • Very familiar with at least one major cloud, and some familiarity with the rest (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and operating within enterprise guardrails
  • Collaboration across product, engineering, security, and operations; pragmatic and delivery-focused.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; emphasis on proposal development and the creation/delivery of effective presentations
  • Proven ability to lead change and set priorities, with capacity to be flexible and adapt with new opportunities.
  • Strong team player with proven ability to build relationships to accomplish goals.
  • Clear communication of complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Total Rewards


The salary range for this position is $104,000 - $215,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
