Deloitte Canada is seeking an experienced Event Manager with a strong background in corporate events, project management, and sponsorship management.

What will your typical day look like?

As the Manager, National Events, you will play a key role in supporting high profile events and portfolios. Your primary focus will be the strategic oversight of an event portfolio, followed by the planning and execution of complex events, and people management.

Main responsibilities include:


Events Portfolio Oversight


• Oversee a portfolio within National Events, ensuring alignment with business goals and priorities.
• Lead the development and implementation of national strategies for unique portfolio events.
• Provide leadership and guidance on event best practices and standards, leveraging market trends and data analysis to inform decision making.
• Foster strategic relationships with business leaders, advising on event strategies and making recommendations based on national best practices and emerging trends.
• Oversee the reporting of event metrics, objectives, and outcomes across all markets.


End-to-End Event Management


• Develop and execute event strategies that align with portfolio goals and objectives.
• Manage logistical elements of event planning, such as space booking, vendor contracting, food and beverage, audio-visual requirements, floor planning, and overall attendee experience.
• Coordinate virtual event production, including platform setup, broadcasting, speaker management, rehearsal scheduling, run-of-show creation, and live execution.
• Oversee event budgets, including cost projection, budget optimization, payment processing, and financial reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with key firm policies and internal processes, working in collaboration with Finance, Procurement, Independence, Risk Management, and Legal teams.
• Lead project management activities, including resource planning, team leadership, facilitation of regular meetings, progress tracking, and preparation of presentations and status updates.


People Management


• Oversee up to three planners (Coordinators-Sr. Specialists) providing performance management, coaching, and support for professional development.
• Lead cross-functional activation teams, fostering effective collaboration among leaders, team members, and different streams.
• Set clear goals, delegate tasks, and deliver regular feedback to drive high team performance and accountability.
• Cultivate an inclusive and positive team culture focused on continuous improvement, skill development, and adaptability to change.


Additional responsibilities may include:


• Manage sponsorships, including contract negotiation, execution, and ongoing relationship management, as well as oversight of the annual sponsorship budget.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure seamless events and sponsorship execution.
• Oversee all aspects of event communications, including promotion, social media, registration, and post-event reporting.

As part of our National Events Team, you will collaborate with a group of creative and innovative professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional event experiences for top talent attracted to Deloitte. The team is responsible for planning and executing virtual, hybrid, and in-person events across Canada. We are committed to consistently inspiring, exciting, and engaging our audiences through every event we deliver.

Due to the nature of the role having interactions with National & Global clients, English is required for this position.

You are someone with:


• Minimum of 6–8 years’ experience in an event management role within a corporate setting
• Demonstrated team leadership and people management skills
• Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
• Proficiency with event management software (such as Cvent) and other event technology
• Advanced digital literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience in data management, reporting, and creating dashboards to support event metrics and decision-making
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and perform effectively under pressure
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and multi-tasking abilities
• Outstanding interpersonal, time management, and client service skills
• Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, execute onsite events, and travel as required.

Total Rewards


The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $156,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
