Deloitte’s Center for Health Solutions (DCHS) is seeking a senior strategic, operational, and people leader who accelerates the Center’s ability to produce and activate market-moving insights—ensuring the right content reaches the right business leader at the right time to drive client conversations, pipeline, and growth. This role has expanded scope and expectations across enterprise leadership, helping lead and manage the team, driving measurable business impact and innovation in research, distribution, and activation.
This senior leader serves as the operational, strategic, and executional counterpart to the Executive Director, with accountability for turning research strategy into scalable, high-impact insights that influence executive decision-making, inform client strategy, and accelerate Deloitte’s growth. The role combines thought leadership excellence, operational rigor, and commercial acumen to ensure the Center’s work is relevant, differentiated, and embedded in the firm’s go-to-market efforts.
As a deputy leader, you will lead a multidisciplinary research and insights organization; oversee the Center’s operating model, financial health, innovation, and talent strategy; and partner closely with industry, sector, and account leaders to ensure insights actively shape client conversations, offerings, and market positioning. This role is designed for a leader who can bridge research and business, inspire teams, and influence senior stakeholders across Deloitte and the broader life sciences and health care ecosystem.
This role serves as a trusted collaborator to the Center’s Executive Director, translating strategy into action, optimizing resources, and driving operational excellence and innovation across thought leadership initiatives. You will inspire project teams through your leadership, experience, and clarity of thought, including on design and delivery of compelling narratives, creation of the intellectual agenda for insight generation, and through highly effective coaching and mentoring of team members that directly contribute to their purpose driven growth and impact. What You will Do: As a Senior Leader of the Center for Health Solutions, you will:
- Enterprise leadership and Operations
- Oversee the operating model of the Center with accountability for performance, resourcing, and scalable execution.
- Run the business of DCHS: financial management, resource allocation, planning and performance management.
- Ensure disciplined execution across a complex portfolio of research initiatives, balancing innovation, and operational excellence.
- Establish scalable processes with accountability, governance structures, and tools that enable speed, quality, and consistency.
- Serve as a key integrator across Research & Insights, Growth & Purpose, and industry leadership.
- Work as a collaborator with the Center Executive Director to set strategy and build next-generation capabilities in content strategy, digital storytelling, AI-enabled research, and impact measurement.
- Talent and Culture Leadership: Inspire, Develop, and Scale High-Performing Teams
- Owning talent outcomes and leadership development: Lead, mentor, and developing a multi-disciplinary team of researchers, analysts, and strategists, fostering a culture of excellence, curiosity, innovation, and inclusion.
- Build a “leader-led” model: coach emerging leaders to become credible thought leaders, managers, and effective collaborators with the business.
- Set clear expectations, provide feedback, and model leadership behaviors aligned with Deloitte’s purpose and values.
- Own workforce planning (capacity, skill mix, etc), hiring, onboarding and performance management to scale reliable development, delivery, operations, and execution.
- Foster a culture of excellence, inclusion, intellectual curiosity, and accountability aligned with Deloitte’s purpose.
- Serve as a Trusted Advisor and Visible Market Leader
- Act as a trusted thought collaborator to Deloitte leaders, helping shape perspectives on market, enabling growth-oriented client conversations, and advancing strategic priorities.
- Represent Deloitte externally through publications, keynote presentations, media engagement, and industry forums.
- Engage directly with senior decision makers across the firm, industries, and government to evaluate hypotheses and influence industry dialogue.
- Build and sustain relationships with external collaborators (academic institutions, policy organizations, foundations, ecosystem partners, etc) to extend CHS and Industry reach and credibility.
- Shape Market-Moving Research with Business Impact
- You will ensure the agenda is differentiated, executive-relevant and translated into insight, clear choices, and actions. You will:
- Co-define and execute the Center’s multi-year research and insights agenda, aligned to Deloitte’s growth priorities across life sciences (biopharma, medtech) and health care (payer, provider) as well as industry convergence.
- Ensure research focuses on strategic questions facing executives, including business model transformation, innovation, policy, regulation, operating performance, and ecosystem change.
- Oversee a portfolio of high-impact, data-driven research initiatives, ensuring rigor, relevance, and differentiation. Translate research findings into clear business implications, strategic choices, and actionable insights that inform C-suite and Board-level decisions.
- Continuously scan the external environment to identify emerging trends, white-space opportunities, and disruptive forces that warrant new research investment.
- Maintain Deloitte’s reputation for intellectual integrity, quality, and independence.
- Drive Activation, Distribution, and Commercial Enablement
- Own the activation strategy for research with modernizing activation pathways and innovating distribution.
- Own the activation strategy to embed insights into client conversations, offerings, pursuits, and campaigns.
- Partner with Industry, Sector, and Account leaders to position research as a growth catalyst, enabling differentiated client value propositions.
- Build an always-on distribution system (segmented audiences, executive moments that matter, enablement packaging and digital/multimedia assets) so business leaders receive relevant and timely insights when they can act.
- Serve as an internal ambassador for the distribution model – guiding integrated publishing, narrative consistency, and optimization practices. Collaborate with Brand, Marketing, Communications, and PR teams to amplify reach, relevance, and impact.
- Establish and track impact metrics (reach, engagement, influence on pipeline, client adoption) to demonstrate return on insight investment.
- Manage project delivery and quality, ensuring research meets Deloitte’s high standards and deadlines.
- Lead innovation across digital/AI/tech approaches and rapid-cycle distribution methods on emerging issues.
Basic Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business administration, public health, economics, sciences, health policy, sociology, technology, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in strategy, operations, budget development, and insights development, with increasing leadership responsibility.
- 8+ years of experience in leading teams, strategy, operations, budget, innovation, and complex stakeholder management.
- Proven record of leading, managing, and inspiring high-performing teams that demonstrate operational excellence and reliability. Experience in advancing innovation and transformation of teams and business practices.
- Interest and knowledge in trends and the business of the Life Sciences sector (biopharma and MedTech companies
- Strong analytical, research, and project management skills; expertise in complex methods and analysis
- Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication for executive and business audiences.
- Recognized presence in the field and market — publications, media appearances, conference presentations, or industry contributions that demonstrate thought leadership.
- Learn and synthesize information and analysis quickly and translate for business audiences. This is particularly important in innovating new methods, the use of technology, digital/AI approaches, and distribution via rapid cycle methods.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- Strong influencing skills in matrixed environments; comfort navigating ambiguity and complex structures.

- Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate in business administration, AI, public health, economics, sciences, health policy, sociology, or related field

- Experience applying technology and AI to research workflows and rapid cycle distribution.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $144,300 to $296,100.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
