As a seasoned network security architect, you will lead a team of consultant, be a trusted advisor to drive deep technical advisory engagements for Deloitte’s clients. Leverage your deep understanding of advanced network architectures to advise, architect and detailed design and build-out of robust network security architectures tailored on converged network and security platforms (e.g., SASE).

What will your typical day look like?

A typical day involves balancing multiple client engagements, where you’ll design and review network security architectures, participate in project meetings, and provide expert guidance to both internal teams and external stakeholders. You’ll collaborate with project managers, engineers, and client representatives to deliver tailored network security solutions across concurrent projects, leading technical workshops and assessing client environments. Your responsibilities will include analyzing network security requirements, developing technical solutions, conducting network security risk assessments, and presenting findings to clients. Additionally, you’ll contribute to proposals, prepare documentation, mentor junior team members, and support pre-sales activities. Staying current on emerging security threats and technologies, as well as engaging in knowledge-sharing sessions, will round out your dynamic and client-facing role.

The Security Architecture Team is a collaborative group of experienced professionals dedicated to designing and implementing robust security solutions for our clients. We work across multiple concurrent projects, partnering closely with internal specialists, project managers, and external client stakeholders to address complex security challenges. Our team leads technical workshops, conducts thorough risk assessments, and develops tailored security architectures that align with client business objectives and industry best practices.

We provide expert guidance throughout project lifecycles, from initial requirements gathering to solution deployment and ongoing support. Our security architects are trusted advisors, translating technical risks into actionable recommendations and clear business terms for clients. We foster a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and mentorship, ensuring we stay ahead of emerging threats and technologies. By combining strategic vision with hands-on expertise, the Security Architecture Team plays a critical role in delivering secure, resilient, and compliant solutions for our clients in a dynamic professional services environment.

Technical Expertise

  • Advanced design and build of secure, converged network architectures across hybrid environments (cloud, on‑prem, SaaS).
  • Proficiency with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, network segmentation; deep knowledge of Zero Trust, SASE/SSE, SD‑WAN, NAC, micro‑segmentation.
  • Expert networking fundamentals (BGP, OSPF, 802.1X); 5+ years delivering end‑to‑end network/security transformations and platforms.

Cloud Security

  • Hands‑on with cloud‑native network security in Azure, AWS, GCP; secure migration and IAM best practices.
  • Familiarity with CSPM and compliance frameworks (CIS, NIST 800‑53/207, ISO 27001).

Network Security Architecture

  • Define and maintain secure architectures for cloud, on‑prem, and hybrid; translate business needs into secure solutions.
  • Evaluate and integrate security technologies (NGFW, SASE, SD‑WAN, NAC, etc.) with minimal disruption.
  • Lead assessments (risk, vuln, pen testing) and oversee control integration.

Certifications

  • Industry and cloud certs (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AWS/Azure security/architect); vendor certs (Palo Alto, Zscaler/Netskope, Check Point, Cisco).

Consulting, Communication, Leadership

  • Strong client‑facing skills; manage multiple projects; excellent presentation/documentation.
  • Mentor teammates; collaborate across functions; solid project management and organization.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and certification renewal.

AI Security Architect Focus

  • Design secure, scalable AI/ML architectures on Azure (API Mgmt, Foundry, OpenAI, Copilot) and Databricks (Unity Catalog, MLflow).
  • Lead AI/ML threat modeling (model inversion, data poisoning, adversarial, prompt injection) and controls for agentic AI (tool abuse, uncontrolled behavior).
  • Govern MCP servers and contextual data; embed MLSecOps/shift‑left controls across the ML lifecycle.
  • Maintain AI reference architectures, standards, and patterns for security, privacy, and observability.
  • Provide strategic advisory aligning AI capabilities with business goals; partner across architecture, security, compliance, and privacy.
  • Track emerging AI threats; build AI governance and observability capabilities.

Total Rewards


The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $175,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
