The Deloitte University production team produces live learning events at Deloitte University, using cutting-edge audio, video, and lighting technologies to deliver memorable, impactful experiences for all attendees. The production team works behind the scenes to provide memorable, impactful executive experiences across Deloitte's national learning campus.
The Technical Director at Deloitte University is a critical member of the production team, reporting to the Executive Producer. This role is responsible for the operational oversight and execution of all technical production elements across Deloitte University's installed audio, video, lighting, and projection systems. The Technical Director supervises technical crew, manages the logistics of daily production setups, ensures optimal system performance, and coordinates the integration of supplemental equipment when program requirements exceed existing capabilities. This role ensures technical excellence and seamless execution for all events at the DU facility.
Work you'll do
As a Technical Director - Delivery Management III, in Industry Solutions on the AI & Engineering team, you will be responsible for:
- Develop comprehensive floor plans for events, including technical equipment placement, staging configurations, and seating arrangements
- Collaborate with producers, event planners, and banquet management to align layouts with program flow, sight lines, and technical requirements
- Monitor technical execution during events to maintain quality standards and provide real-time guidance
- Supervise technical crew across daily productions, including staffing coordination and crew briefings
- Coordinate system checks, troubleshooting, supplemental equipment sourcing, and vendor-supported installations as needed

Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of technical production experience in corporate events, live entertainment, or venue operations
- Experience with professional audio, video, lighting, and projection systems
- Experience supervising technical crews and managing production logistics
- Experience creating floor plans and technical layouts for events
- Experience with layout/design software such as Vectorworks or similar event planning tools
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Technical Theatre, Audio/Visual Production, Event Management, or equivalent experience
- Must be local to Westlake, TX and this role will require availability and delivery that aligns to the program schedule across a 7-day week (some weekends included based on business needs).
- Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Preferred:
- Experience with installed venue systems and corporate event production environments
- Experience with load-in/load-out logistics and vendor coordination
- Knowledge of industry-standard audiovisual equipment and system integration principles
