The CIB-Operations teams are recognized as key to business profitability, playing a crucial role in managing clients, risk and minimizing losses. This is done by ensuring that business activities are carried out in an efficient, controlled and timely manner.
The role of CIB-Operations covers a wide range of activities. Following the buying and selling of financial products and services by the bank, we ensure that each transaction is captured accurately and in a timely manner to ensure effective risk management, cleared, documented and confirmed, settled and reconciled, all within a tightly controlled environment in adherence with global regulatory requirements.
We are split into 4 main sub-divisions:
- Debt Trading and Emerging Markets
- Global Equities and Network Management
- Markets Clearing & Collateral Management (MCCM)
- Regulatory and Control Cross Product Operations (RCP)
You will operational expertise and independent governance to achieve timely, accurate and complete transaction management for the bank and, where relevant, the bank’s clients.
Your key responsibilities
- Ensure timely booking of trades within all requisite systems within the GEBS architecture
- Apply problem solving and investigative techniques to trade booking / flow issues
- Update of trade amendments within pre-requisite systems where required; Apply root cause investigation to repetitive issues or problems
- Build and maintain strong relationship with stakeholder groups, onshore and offshore
- Identify risk and possible escalation of any trade or booking issues and endorse to your team manager
Your skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or related course, with prior experience in banking or commercial bank operations
- Knowledge in trade life cycle; experience in trade and transaction operations, trade capture, settlements
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential to the role, with strong customer service skills, and good communication
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team and a pro-active attitude
