You will join the UKI AFC team which advises the Deutsche Bank businesses on best practice and standards for risk-mitigation reflecting the applicable provisions of United Kingdom (UK) and German law, regulation and guidance, and applicable local laws in each jurisdiction in which the business lines operate.

Position overview:

  • Working with the UKI RHAFC and UKI Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLROs) on coordinating and supervising day-to-day activities of the Regional AFC department

  • Provide financial crime subject matter expertise (SME) across all applicable taxonomies and any other Regional and Global initiatives as required

  • Provide advice and guidance to the 1st Line of Defence (1LoD) and senior management on matters that relate to financial crime risk as required, or via the Regional Business Line Anti Financial Crime support functions or where specifically delegated to do so

  • Act as senior escalation point for all financial crime related matters; e.g. Know Your Customer, Sanction and Embargo escalations, bribery and Corruption, Fraud, Non-Performing Assets escalations, and any other areas prior to further escalation to the RHAFC or UKI MLROs

  • Assist with and advise on any regulatory examinations or requests involving regional AFC matters as required by the RHAFC or MLROs

  • Support the UKI Regional Risk & Controls, AFC Framework and Management Information and Reporting Teams (“covered functions”) as required

Experience Required:

  • A strong track record in risk and regulatory matters, ideally including Solid understanding of Anti Money Laundering (AML)/AFC risks and typologies in order to identify areas or instances of potential AML/AFC risks and to address them appropriately

  • Prior experience of acting as regulatory liaison with regards to AML/AFC matters Any other experience required under the various appropriate regulations/laws and related circulars Federal Reserve Bank, Department of Justice, Department of Financial Services

  • Knowledge of relevant guidance of Financial Action Task Force Ideally held a similar senior position with extensive experience in AML, compliance or a control related function within an international organisation/bank in the Financial Services industry, or held AML Officer role within a smaller organisation

  • Significant experience within an investment bank in the Financial Services industry Crime function expertise - and should be considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Financial Crime area on relevant laws and regulation
