Details of the Division and Team:
Trade Settlement & Confirmations Operations & Institutional banking (TSCO & IB) Operations is dedicated to support our business in their goal to build long-term, sustainable relationships with the Bank’s key institutional clients, while delivering strong returns to stakeholders.
TSCO & IB Operations in Deutsche Bank Sri Lanka covers a wide range of activities. Following the buying and selling of financial products and services by the bank, we ensure that each transaction is captured accurately and in a timely manner to ensure effective risk management, cleared, documented, and confirmed, settled, and reconciled, all within a tightly controlled environment in adherence with global regulatory requirements.
Trade Settlement & Confirmations Operations (TSCO) provides support to Global Emerging Markets business covering mainly Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, Money Market and Derivatives.

You can expect:
Provident Fund: The Bank will contribute 25% towards the EPF. These rates are subject to change in accordance with the amendments made to the EPF Trust duly approved by the statutory authority.
Employees Trust Fund: The Bank will contribute 3% of the basic salary towards the Employees Trust Fund (E.T.F.). This rate is subject to change in accordance with the statutory limits as declared by the Government of Sri Lanka.
Gratuity: You will be entitled to Gratuity, on resignation/separation/retirement from Bank.
Group Term Life Insurance: All permanent employees are covered under a Life Assurance Policy.
Group Personal Accident Insurance: All permanent employees are covered under a Personal Accident Insurance Policy as well.
Your key responsibilities:
The Primary functions are including but not limited to processing, settlements, confirmations, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting.
The job holder is required to be compliant with country and regional guidelines. In addition, the jobholder is expected to ensure that the overall deliveries of products attributed to the business area are processed in an efficient and timely manner.
Additionally, the job holder in accordance with the current roles and responsibilities, is required to develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients and all Business Divisions
Your key responsibilities:
Trade processing and settlements for Market's products (FX, Money Market, Fixed Income, Derivatives).
Ensure daily processing are in compliant with internal control policies, procedures, and standards as well as external regulatory requirements.
Ensure timely and accurate settlement of transactions.
Close monitoring and effective management of trade confirmations to reduce outstanding aged items.
Review all reconciliation reports (NOSTRO , Depot and inter systems) and resolve breaks (if any) on a timely basis
Liaise and follow-up with Front Office on booking and/or settlement issue.Liaise with offshore and regional teams on Operational related queries and/or initiatives.
Responsible for regulatory reporting and all regulatory obligations for the products managed.
Participate in ad-hoc initiatives, UAT testing and cross product coverage.
Follow-up with various stakeholders independently on issues till resolution, including reporting and system issues.
Engage in Operational transformation initiatives and proactively improve workflow efficiency.
Audit Controls
Audit in bound - ensuring that all local and regional audit reviews and issues are resolved and address accordingly.
Ensuring that all controls have been adhered to and that there are no lapses or gaps in control as per the DB standards.
Other:
Supervising all Market Operations functions and staff
Point of contact for all Market Operations matter local and regionally.
Responsible for all BAU activities for the Marker Operations (TSCO) Sri Lanka
Ensure all operational activities are carryout as per local and Internal regulations and guidelines.
Ensure that Staff training, development and regular feedback provided to the team including yearly, midyear performance evaluations.
Promptly resolving operations matters and ensure timely escalations.
Your skills and experience:
Educational Qualifications:
A degree or an equivalent professional qualification in Banking, Finance or Management.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Should possess one of the professional qualification/s listed below at the time of applying :
A certificate in Treasury and Foreign Exchange Operations offered by the Centre for Banking Studies of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
The Dealing Certificate or Operations Certificate offered by the Financial Market Association (Association Cambiste Internationale – ACI).
The Diploma in Treasury and Risk Management offered by the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka.
Membership in the Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst
Required skills and competencies:
In-depth knowledge of financial framework and regulations governing Investment Banking and Treasury.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Excellent knowledge of banking and investment products
Conversant with MS Office applications and proficient in technology platforms.
Able to handle stressful situations with internal clients and regulators whilst maintaining a professional approach to problem solving.
Capable of adopting a hands-on and proactive approach.
Possesses and demonstrates integrity and discretion.
