Agile Coach

The Network Security Agile Coach is experienced in implementing agile projects and can share that experience with a project team. They are responsible for providing feedback and advice to new agile project teams, and also to teams who want to perform at a higher level. The Network Security Agile Coach serves in a mentoring or coaching role and is not part of a particular scrum team, enabling them to provide objective guidance without line management considerations. The Network Security Agile Coach has agile expertise, experience in implementing agile techniques in different cultures and environments, and past success in running agile projects of varying size and complexity. They can also provide other valuable services to the areas they are engaged with including facilitation of activities, suggestion of tools and approaches to tackle issues as they arise and providing assistance with long-term strategy for change implementation. The Network Security Agile Coach provides ongoing support to help their teams stay on track with agile techniques and supports ongoing improvement through encouraging the appropriate behaviours.

Details

As a Network Security Agile Coach you will be a change agent with a passion for coaching who embodies the agile culture and ways of working. You will be accountable for ensuring new and existing agile teams are enabled to deliver increased business impact by building sustainable agile behaviours, processes and ways of working. This will be achieved through coaching, constructive challenge and by sharing of experience with agile leaders and teams.

As a Network Security Agile Coach you will independently serve as an advisor, facilitator, mentor, coach and trainer. You will model “servant-leadership”, be proactive and have a solution mindset, identifying, evaluating and resolving complicated issues with leaders and teams. You will coach in an inclusive way which encourages creativity and the application of problem-solving techniques to agile and non-agile topics, building and maintaining strong partnerships with stakeholders across the Bank, providing thought leadership and acting as a trusted adviser.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise, facilitate, mentor and coach the scaled agile team sponsors, scaled agile leaders, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Chapter Leads, agile team members and stakeholders.
  • Support the definition and development of a transformation roadmap and continuous improvement practices to improve performance in close cooperation with the Agile Lead and agile teams.
  • Design and roll-out new tribes and other agile structures in cooperation with the tribe leadership.
  • Support/guide teams with the adoption of JIRA and related processes.
  • Support/guide teams with definition and implementation of the Quarterly Review Process.
  • Perform regular agile maturity assessments of the existing tribes and define and implement appropriate measures to increase agile maturity as agreed with the Tribe lead.
  • Define and improve overall scaled agile team and agile team measurement systems including business impact, team delivery performance and agile maturity.
  • Understand the context of teams coached including strategic targets, delivery targets, structure, agile framework(s), constraints, team-dynamics, mindsets, human nature and technical considerations.
  • Establish and drive a culture of experimentation, psychological safety and continual learning.
  • Support Product Owner, Scrum Master and scaled agile leaders to live up to their target role profiles; often being the primary coach for the scaled agile lead.
  • Support the operation of the scaled agile team and the scaled agile ceremonies incl. cross-team Sync, Demo, Retro, Quarterly Business Reviews, Big Room Planning.
  • Collaborate with other Network Security Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters to continuously improve agile processes and practices.
  • Conduct training sessions on topics such as Agile practices, new Scrum Master induction, JIRA adoption.
  • Drive ad-hoc agile transformation projects.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience as an Agile Coach and experience of driving an agile transformation program.
  • Expert in Scrum and Scaled Agile frameworks and related techniques derived from implementing agile in different cultures and environments
  • Past success in supporting agile teams of varying size and complexity as a Scrum Master and as an Agile Coach.
  • Past success in design and roll out of new tribes/new agile structures
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience with Agile Project Management is a plus
  • Deep background in coaching and developing people and agile teams, in influencing behavior change — a track record of supporting cultural change
  • Experience in communication with Senior Management / Steering Committee level
  • Self-driven and motivated, able to adapt and adjust to complex changing environment and work with minimal supervision
  • Structured and inclusive problem solving
  • Design and delivery of formal and informal training
  • Passionate about coaching and supporting people to adjust and embrace changes to their way of working
  • Comfortable challenging and advising senior leadership, in a way that encourages them to improve and embed new ways of working
  • Emotionally intelligent, open-minded and collaborative with strong people management skills: Motivating, observing, coaching and mentoring of colleagues.
  • Experience in financial services or large corporate environments is a plus
  • Knowledge and practical experience in Information Security is a plus
