Overview

Corporate Banking (CB) is a technology centric business, with an increasing move to real-time processing, an increasing appetite from customers for integrated systems and access to supporting data. Joining our team is a unique opportunity to help rebuild the core of some of our most mission critical processing systems from the ground-up. In this role, you will collaborate with senior leaders and support key initiatives across the technology landscape. You will work closely with stakeholders throughout the organization to understand their plans, assess impacts, and coordinate dependencies, ensuring our technology infrastructure meets the highest standards of efficiency and regulatory compliance. As part of our global team, you will work on various components as a Software Engineer, and your role includes specification, development, as well as the testing and rollout of new features.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as part of a talented software team that works on mission-critical platform, apply best practices, and participate in decision-making

  • Java/Kotlin applications development in an Agile Collaborative environment while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to development & testing; write clear, maintainable, and reusable code and take part in code reviews

  • Develop swarm-like cloud ready application components from gathering requirements, through design, to deployment

  • Collaborate with engineers to actively participate and contribute to technical discussions, architecture decisions and specifications, as well as co-work with Quality Assurance (QA) team on test automation of new and existing functionality and partner with the UI/UX design team, architects, business analysts and stakeholders situated in multiple regions and time-zones to understand requirements, designing, developing, and delivering applications for mission-critical systems

  • Conduct Research and Design (RnD) mini projects used as building blocks and/or blueprints for the mainstream applications design and development

  • When product and architecture experience gained, mentor and direct more junior developer

Skills You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s and/ or master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Information Technology

  • Experience with all Agile software development frameworks and processes, and software design, Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST application programming interface (API), PostgreSQL or Oracle or other Structured Query Language (SQL) databases

  • Knowledge in designing and implementing distributed enterprise applications with high volume and low latency requirements, in Unix OS, Unix Shell, scripting, in or readiness to learn quickly Kotlin, Koin, Ktor, MongoDB, Kafka, in or readiness to learn quickly React, Java Script, Typescript and other UI technologies, as well as in and readiness to participate in DevOps operations and issues analysis (Knowledge in container runtime environments (Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift) - is a plus)

  • Readiness to learn new technology and adopt them rapidly

  • Experience implementing applications onto Cloud Platform (AWS/Azure/Goggle Cloud Platform (GCP)) and experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) tools like Git, JIRA, Arti factory, Jenkins, Ansible is a plus

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Good communication skills, while being a self-starter and a go getter

  • Proven ability to perform 3 level support as the developed component moves to the production

  • Effective organizational skills and exceptional flexibility with a structured approach to problem solving and strong analytical skills

  • Agile delivery knowledge and Google Cloud Platform experience is an added advantage

  • You stay current on technical trends to suggest innovative tools and approaches to interesting problems, while sharing your expertise with the entire Engineering organization

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $100,000 and $142,250. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
