Job Title- Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer

Location- Pune

Role Description:

We are looking for a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to contribute to our build of a hybrid Google Cloud and on-prem architecture.

Your key responsibilities

• Contribute to the enablement of a fully automated cloud-focused software lifecycle.
• Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support the adoption of DevOps, SRE & FinOps
• Work on toil reduction
• Actively contribute and deliver on automation and observability of KPIs.
• Work with the wider community of engineers to increase standards & discipline.
• Ability to drive incident management, problem management forums and postmortems across operations, infrastructure, networks, engineering and product teams to find root cause.
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software and infrastructure.
• Remediate all ITAO application/infrastructure activities as reflected in the workbench tool, including, Application Security and Monitoring; Identity and Access Management; Audit, Regulatory and Internal compliance; Infrastructure and Product logistics; SDLC and Process management, and Records Management
• I Ensure that all my controls are operating as designed and gaps remediation is timely. I influence the prioritization of any costs (and time) associated with operating any self-selected, non-strategic controls and meeting all requirements within the control lifecycle management I am ensuring awareness of controls in my remit.

Your skills and experience

Must Have:

• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or relevant field
• Hands-on experience with a Public Cloud provider. AWS, Azure or – ideally - Google Cloud.
• Very good knowledge of the components of modern cloud best practice:
  • Infrastructure as Code – With Terraform.
  • Compliance with Policy as Code – With Terraform Sentinel.
  • Infrastructure on demand, auto-scaling and cost optimization.
  • CI / CD using Jenkins, Github & Github Actions.
  • Containerization with Docker.
  • Kubernetes – ideally with Google Kubernetes Engine or RedHat OpenShift.
  • Packaging using Helm.
  • Service Meshes – With either Anthos Service Mesh or, ideally, Consul Service Mesh.
  • Open-Source dependency management and CVE mitigation.
  • Automated testing, BDD and TDD.
  • Observability using Google Cloud Operations or NewRelic.
• Experience creating pipelines and automation using Groovy and Shell Scripting.
• Experience building secure images using Docker.
• Comprehensive understanding of security fundamentals:
  • Certificates, keys and their management.
  • Secret best practices and management.
  • At-rest and in-transit encryption mechanisms and algorithm comparisons.
  • Binary authorization.
  • Authentication and authorization.
  • Service accounts and identity federation.
  • Robust logging, tracing and anomaly detection.
  • Open-Source supply chain security
• Experience with managing change for relational databases, particularly Oracle.
• Exposure to distributed data platforms like Hadoop with Spark.
• A history of working with Linux or Unix-based platforms
• Understanding of microservices architecture principles using the Spring framework. Working knowledge of tools and technologies supporting service design like API gateways, service registries, discovery and service meshes.
• A history of Agile software delivery with active participation in all ceremonies and use of common tooling like Jira.
• Good stakeholder management and communication.
• Ability to translate customer and product requirements into stable, sustainable and reusable solutions.
• Ability to identify inefficiencies, duplication and look at ways and means for simplification.
• Ability to work under pressure and drive resolution for major incidents.

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience coding in Java and/or front-end web-based UIs using React and JavaScript.
• SRE experience or prior implementation.
• Exposure to non-relational datastores like MongoDB
