Your Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the role is to partner alongside the senior Relationship Manager (RM) in servicing all facets of our institutional clients’ needs. This requires developing an understanding of DWS’ investment products and strategies, independently working with clients, consultants, prospects and internal teams across the organization, managing projects within tight deadlines, and having confident presentation skills.

The Relationship Manager (RM) working in conjunction with the senior RM, will be responsible for managing the client experience in a role that requires a self-starter who proactively seeks out additional responsibility and will be expected to:

  • Provide comprehensive support for the senior RM’s needs and the integration of the depth of the DWS organization to strengthen investment relationships

  • Work with Portfolio Management, product specialists and analysts

  • Coordinate with the Solutions Group, utilizing their expertise to assist clients with overall investment program needs

  • Produce materials for client distribution, investment strategy updates, market information, economic outlooks, operational matters, and investment portfolio updates. These communications typically occur formally at quarterly client meetings and are supplemented by ad-hoc emails, phone calls, and other types of correspondence and reporting

  • Prepare and deliver scheduled and ad hoc client reports. Participation in conference calls and presenting to clients and prospects (both in-person and virtually) is an expected function of the role as the RM becomes more proficient and experienced.

  • Work with Compliance – ensuring all materials prepared comply with internal requirements – as well as other groups within the organization, including interaction with Investment Operations, Billing and Legal

  • May require extended hours & weekends during peak reporting periods

Your Skills & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree, or equivalent, preferably in business

  • Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience

  • Series 7/63 licenses a plus, and required within 1st year of role

  • Progression towards CFA Charter and/or advanced degree a plus

  • Strong writing skills and hands-on personal computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, Aladdin, Seismic; programming and writing macros a strong plus

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well ability to confidently present to clients and prospects

  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic team player, able to work with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Attention to detail, responsiveness to clients, deadline-focused, ability to manage the efficient and effective use of internal resources

  • Ability to execute tactically on a day-to-day basis

  • Familiarity with investment fundamentals and advanced concepts, specifically fixed income investments

  • Familiarity with and understanding of alternative asset classes, as well as DWS products and their application within an institutional company portfolio

  • General understanding of asset allocation, tax, and regulatory matters relative to institutional clients

  • Insurance industry, capital markets, and/or institutional client servicing experience desired
