Overview

Regulatory and Cross Product Technology in Corporate and Investment Banking Technology which is part of Technology, Data and Innovation at Deutsche Bank. We are an engineering focused organisation, striving for the highest quality, pattern orientated architecture, design and code across our teams.

You will work in a fast paced, agile environment enabling you to interact at all levels in the organisation to deliver collaboratively with our business & technology partners. As an experienced architect you will help drive the technical agenda for the domain and the Bank. You will provide architecture expertise working with solution architects and feature teams to engineer innovative solutions using modern architecture and technology. You will be a collaborative team player that values the success of the whole team rather than any part.

You will collaborate across architecture and organisational domains to ensure that well designed solutions are built and released to provide significant value to our customers. You will share a passion for software engineering excellence, led by robust well thought through designs and architecture. You will help govern the architecture process, improving it where we are not enabling feature teams to build solutions that are fit for purpose and genuinely impactful to the businesses they support. Through reviews and guidance, you will help teams understand how to avoid common engineering problems and ensure solutions align to our enterprise architecture principles.

Your key responsibilities

  • Architect and design approaches that support rapid, incremental, and iterative delivery, such as Domain Driven Design, CQRS, Event Sourcing, Micro Services & Service Mesh architectures.
  • Leverage knowledge gained in Financial Services environments, for example products, instruments, trade lifecycles, regulation, risk, compliance, financial reporting, or accounting.
  • Help set the direction of the architecture for the domain.
  • Enjoy having a multi-faceted role. Your focus will span the many architecture and technology concerns: technical, functional, data and enterprise architecture.
  • Encourage better ways of working, embedding architecture and design into our culture. Working across other architecture functions refining how we do architecture in the firm aligned to optimised ways of working.
  • Ensure the overall design of the domain is fit for purpose, and where not, fix it.
  • Regularly reviewing the implementations of the designs to ensure they do actually do what they should, in the right way with the right stability.
  • Create a consistent, well-defined architecture and designs as you form consensus with other architects and lead engineers to build the wider Corporate and Investment Banking architecture.
