Origination & Advisory (O&A) aims to build long-term, trusted, and mutually-beneficial relationships with the major corporates, financial institutions, financial sponsors and sovereigns around the world. Core product offerings with an acute Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) focus would include:

  • Debt Capital Markets manages new issuance in investment grade debt, loan capital markets and private placements for corporate, financial institutions, sovereign, supranational, agency and emerging market issuers.
  • Leveraged Debt Capital Markets combines a premier high-yield market business with diverse debt financing capabilities. The bank can price, structure, underwrite and distribute senior, mezzanine and high-yield transactions in all major financial centers

The business is seeking a dynamic individual to join the O&A ESG Business Management team, working directly with Global O&A ESG Implementation lead. You will have demonstrated extensive experience in collaborating effectively, managing project deliverables, giving attention to detail, and have a propensity to quickly learn new topics. The role will entail supporting the Global O&A Implementation lead in their mandate around project delivery, process improvement of ESG workflow, and supporting strategic initiatives for O&A across climate risks, net-zero, transition finance, ESG-labelled debt products, and enablement of global client-facing teams through both bespoke training and informational content as well as sustainable finance insights.

Your key responsibilities

  • Deliver ESG content, analysis, and reporting to key internal stakeholders, working closely with the O&A ESG Implementation lead, having visibility on strategic topics at Investment Bank (IB) Senior Management level
  • Perform analysis for themes across Net-Zero, Transition Finance, and Sustainable Finance
  • Contribute meaningful content for holistic ESG trainings for coverage teams across O&A
  • Serve as point for coordination and preparation of internal presentations / meeting materials

Your skills and experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, candidate would be expected to establish longstanding relationships across Deutsche Bank
  • A broad understanding of the Investment Bank product offering and the broader ESG trends impacting financing and advisory businesses
  • Experience working under pressure and delivering exceptional results, exceptional time management and prioritization skills, a self-starter and intrinsically motivated
  • Quick learner and ability to derive key takeaways of recent business trends in context of relevance for O&A
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with the ability to create flexible evaluation
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent), ideally speaking both English and German fluently
