Job Title: Trade/Transaction Analyst

Location: Bangalore, India

Role Description

  • Be part of the trade settlements team who handle the settlement of loan trades with various dollar amounts and ensure trade proceeds are completed within funding timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • This is a key role to ensure the Banks books and records are updated timely which has various impacts if not completed on time.
  • You will get the opportunity to review various trade settlements/legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with set procedures.
  • The work you do will have direct business profit and loss impact and will have ability to interact with other departments of the Bank such as finance, trade closing, other operations teams as well as front office personnel as needed.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day loan activities including but not limited to manual general ledger entries, manual cashflows/manual funds flows, secondary trade processing etc.
  • Monitor scheduled activity to ensure that all transactions are processed within timeframes indicated
  • Ensuring trade funding is processed prior to daily cutoff time
  • Interface with internal and external contacts for resolution of position discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Reconciliation of entries and calculation for assigned business areas or assignment agreements, i.e. fees, compensations, etc.
  • Monitor and escalate aging issues and unresolved disputes to management
  • Identify and escalate open issues to team manager
  • Provide written commentary on outstanding open issues
  • Collate regular reports for monitoring purposes
  • Daily monitoring of WIP (Work in Process) and control reports ensuring that items are properly identified and cleared in a timely manner
  • Cash matching on internal systems
  • Review and update procedures to ensure efficiency in training and transaction processing
  • Participate in departmental projects and initiatives which involve UAT testing
  • Cross-train with other departments for work efficiencies and knowledge enhancements
  • Adhere to operational controls including legal and regulatory procedures to ensure safety and security of the Bank’s assets
  • Understand business and regulatory requirements and ensure functions are being performed in those requirements
  • Other ad-hoc requests as needed assigned by management

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics combined with at least 1-2 years financial industry experience. Alternatively, 3-4 years of experience in the financial industry is preferred
  • Ability to read and understand legal documents such as credit agreements, amendment documentation, trade settlement documents and loan servicing notices
  • Strong problem solving and/or analytical skills under tight deadlines and stress induced environment
  • Excellent PC skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced investment banking operations environmentThoroughness and attention to detail is a must
  • Possess effective decision making capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and handle heavy volumes within deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment in order to achieve group targets
  • Strong relationship abilities with internal departments
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficiency in financial applications, mathematics/analysis would be beneficial
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of syndicated loans procedure and Loan IQ platform is a plus
