Role Description

  • GEM is a market leader for Emerging Markets offering client FIC products globally. It operates across more than 20 locations with hubs based in Singapore, London and New York and provides a comprehensive range of products and services in these markets.
  • GEM Connect is a client workflow automation ecosystem designed to address challenges across collections, payments, funding and FX in markets with capital restrictions, and will be servicing Corporate Bank and Fixed Income & Currencies business units in APAC and wider Emerging Markets.
  • Using any combination GEM Connect components like account-less currency capability, cash balance APIs, digital documentation, rules-based FX execution tools or payment and hedge matching solution, Deutsche Bank will be able to provide a one-stop liquidity and FX management solution for its clients in EM markets such as India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Mainland China, Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand.

Your key responsibilities

  • Collaborate and communicate openly; pairing with colleagues to write software and solve problems
  • Engage directly with business stakeholders to elicit requirements and ensure that the software delivered is fit for purpose
  • Technical analysis, solution design, developing, unit testing, code review, architecture and API documentation
  • Engage with QA to prepare infrastructure for integration and load testing activities
  • Deployment of the solution for SIT, UAT testing activities and for demonstration session to business stakeholders;
  • Production SL3 support

Your Skills and experience

  • Engineering degree with 10+ years of experience working with global teams
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex Java/SpringBoot applications with Oracle database
  • Extensive & demonstrated hands-on coding experience on Java/SpringBoot (Multithreading, Collections, Concurrency, Security & Microservices)
  • Solid understanding of Design patterns
  • Good expertise in Java 8+, SpringBoot, Hibernate, REST APIs, JUnit, Grekin, Oracle-SQL/PL SQL, JMS/MQ, OpenShift/Kubernetes and Cloud Platform - preferably GCP
  • Good to have knowledge of Angular, JavaScript, Web 2.0 and common UI design patterns
  • Practical experience with Build Tools (preferably Maven), Git, CI/CD pipelines (Hudson, Jenkins or TeamCity) and Kafka, ElasticSearch and Kibana/Splunk
  • Experience in Web technologies (React, Angular 2+, TypeScript)
  • Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment
  • Ability to produce well-tested, documented, high-performance code on tight schedules
  • Proficient communication skills (written/verbal)
