Team / division overview
The team invest client/ fund assets, oversee the investment strategy and direct all trades of the relevant portfolio, within a product / asset class and ensure that the delivery of Portfolio commitments adheres to the appropriate governance guidelines, including any regulatory/legal restrictions that may impact the portfolio. They make decisions about investment mix and policy, matching investments to objectives, asset allocation for individuals and institutions and balancing risk against performance, based on a deep understanding of market developments, financial and economic trends. They participate in research meetings and client meetings as required, in support of asset management responsibilities.
Your responsibilities
As our Portfolio Analyst, you will:
- A portfolio/research manager is part of the fixed income team or the Equity team within Investment Management Department. The role has the opportunity to collaborates with the various other divisions, such as Client Coverage and Product, by contributing to client reporting and product management/ monitoring functions for all funds across the retail and institutional funds in Japan.
- From the perspective of investment management, implementation of daily investment operations, portfolio replication, execution of investment advisory and FoF Operation.
- The role will also provide sub-delegation oversight of funds which are delegated to affiliates and third-party investment managers.
- Investment operations involve working with Compliance and Operations to ensure compliance with investment guidelines, the firm’s standards of internal control and fiduciary responsibilities.
- Portfolio/research manager will also provide support, where appropriate, to Client Coverage personnel in the relationship management of key clients and consultants, contributing to RFPs and preparing ad hoc report on the market environment and outlook.
We are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience
- 3-5 years of relevant portfolio/research management experience
- Superior investment acumen with a strong understanding of various asset classes
- Superior analytical skills as well as being detail-oriented on both strategy and execution
- Ability to build strong relationships with a range of teams and individuals and influence outcomes
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
