This position will be a part of the SWISS core services team who are responsible for providing operational support for the database environment, which provides support for the business applications environment.
Responsibilities
Installing, monitoring, and upgrading UNIX system software on company servers and computers.
Creating and maintaining UNIX user accounts and access management systems.
Creating and setting standardized backup and recovery policies, as well as security policies.
Applying patches and upgrades when necessary.
Assisting in resolution of hardware/software platform problems in complex, multi-layered environment.
Analyzing impact of software changes across other functional units.
Maintaining space utilization statistics, forecast future space requirements.
Establish, implement, and record Unix Administrator best practices.
Implementing and managing system to proactively monitor infrastructure.
Maintain responsibility for racking/de-racking servers and network connections.
Making recommendations for upgrades to hardware and software based on existing operations, pending needs and available budget.
Troubleshoot issues as they arise to resolve them with minimum service interruption.
In addition to above Primary UNIX job responsibilities the position includes some Datacenter operation responsibilities.
Maintain responsibility for racking/de-racking servers and network connections.
Access Management to DB Datacenters.
Maintaining Inventory and Physical Security Standard according to DB policy.
Skills
Seniority in UNIX/Linux server administration and production infrastructure support
Deep knowledge of UNIX/Linux OS, network protocols, file systems, and storage
Familiar with high availability, disaster recovery, and load balancers
Knowledge of wired/wireless networking hardware and architectures
Senior-level troubleshooting, capacity planning, and root cause analysis
Experience with monitoring tools (Nimsoft, Geneos, NewRelic)
Configuring and securing mission-critical servers
Load balancer and data configuration
Shell scripting for automation and monitoring
System performance tuning
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving in complex IT environments
Excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Good English communication skills

OEL - Oracle Linux version 7,8
RHEL version 6,7,8,9
Scripting – Shell
Automation – Ansible
Virtualization – Vmware
Experience in Swiss Banking environments and Swiss regulations required.
