Details of the Division and Team:

Working within the Debt FIC Operations team and reporting directly to the Head of Operations/ Team Leader, the candidate will have primary responsibility for all aspects of FX / MM / BONDS /DERIVATIVES Settlements/Confirmations.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Preparation of all outgoing

- FX confirmations

- MM confirmations

  • Validation of all incoming
  • FX confirmations
  • MM confirmations
  • Ensure all trades are confirmed timeously.
  • Processing of payments.
  • Reconciliation of trade bookings to ensure accurate record keeping of positions.
  • Reconciliation of payments to accounting entries.
  • Investigation and settlement of client claims.
  • Assist with production and reporting of MIS to department manager.
  • Resolve queries with front office, clients, controlling and other stakeholders.
  • Understanding of Balance of Payments (BOP reporting).
  • Preparation/checking of daily cash management.
  • Process improvement / innovation.

Your skills and experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in a Debt / Treasury operations role within a financial institution/International Bank. A strong controls and client orientation would be advantageous.
  • Market & Product knowledge

- Strong knowledge and understanding of Debt / Treasury instruments (FX, Money Market, Bonds.) and/or

- Strong knowledge and understanding of Debt Derivative products (FRA’s, IRS, Bond Options, Swaptions etc.)

  • Team Player.
  • Computer Literacy – particularly MS Excel & MS Word.
  • Good understanding of S.W.I.F.T.
  • Analytical mind with high levels of attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to work long hours.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • B.Comm degree or equivalent Tertiary Business qualification.
  • JSE Bond Certification
  • Energetic, Enthusiastic and Keen
  • Good people skills
  • Team orientated.
  • Excellent Attention to Detail, Accuracy and Control
  • Lateral and Innovative thinker
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Resilient
