Details of the Division and Team:
Vietnam Branch Operations is looking for a GSO Senior Officer. This position is responsible in daily processing in custody operations and operational support to Securities Services within the bank’s established control framework.
The candidate must possess a functional knowledge of:
Having expertise or deeper understanding of process, product and/or the business and play a key role in facilitating communication between functional teams, sharing knowledge and good practice. They lead and foster the team dynamic, often providing resource strategy input and focus on process and performance efficiency. They are responsible for analysis, change and continuous improvement as well as the first or second level escalation point for the team.

Your key responsibilities:
Settlement and Clearing
Accountable for managing the end-to-end clearing and settlement process; ensuring smooth and timely market settlement of securities and cash transfers between the bank and its counterparty. This includes clearing and settlement through primary and secondary markets, or direct payment to clients and banks.
To support interfaces with different internal and external stakeholders (front office, clients, brokers, nostro agents, exchanges and clearing houses) involved in the clearing and settlement process chain, according to the market standards. Responsible for trade date to settlement date processes (pre-matching and confirmation, trade processing, cash transfer, instruction routing, depot and inventory management, funding and settlement monitoring) and post-settlement date processes (fails management).
Corporate Action and Income
Responsible for the front-to-back processing of corporate action and income related processes on behalf of the bank. The corporate action process includes both Mandatory and Voluntary Corporate Action event types, whilst the Income process includes dividend and coupon processing. They are responsible for the following lifecycle: announcement capture, notification, entitlement calculation, entitlement booking (stock and/or cash), voluntary instruction management, and pay date process such as payable/receivable claim management (stock and/or cash). Included within the Voluntary process is Proxy Services, covering Extraordinary General Meetings, Annual General Meetings, Special General Meetings and Class Action processing (where applicable).
Charging and Billing
Responsible for accurately setting up, processing and delivering all charges, fees and cash-related events related to business and products within their remit. Will generally involve time-critical, complex or regulated tasks, makes use of existing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and involves standardisation and improvements to methodologies and outputs.
Regulatory Operations
In partnership with stakeholders, to be accountable for defining and implementing procedures which provide regulatory operations services for various divisions of the bank and its group entities. Key responsibilities are to work with the bank’s regulatory team to translate regulation into operational processes/procedures assisted with the required development to the bank’s information technology infrastructure; many of the processes are time critical due to regulator stipulated timelines and other deadlines so ensuring completeness is essential.
Specifications:
Manages stock positions in the intended place of settlement by proactively re-aligning the stock.
Ensures adherence to all market matching and settlement cut-off, buy-in regulations and exchange penalties/fines.
Reaches out to client or broker to resolve issues related to trade economics, static, fees, brokerage or stock positions.
Proactively communicates with clients on trade status and works for timely resolution.
Collaborates with cash management to facilitate funding for timely settlement of trade.
Reconciles cash and stock positions for Deutsche Bank against the market.
Prioritises trades based on market risk, age category and value of the trade.
Announcement Capture – Collects Market announced Corporate Action/Income data from Vendors, Agents or Exchanges.
Notification - Notifies of the event details to “entitled” holders of the impacted security. (Entitlement is derived from an individual holding a position in the impacted security at the time of the announcement).
Entitlement calculation – Uses key dates within the Corporate Action/income event lifecycle, to calculate the eligible position for the Corporate Action.
Entitlement Booking – Creates any cash and/or stock outcome resulting from the Corporate Action/Income event.
Voluntary Instruction Management – Manages the solicitation, collation and instruction of entitled client instructions relevant to the voluntary Corporate Action event type.
Pay Date Process – Manages the open payable/receivable claims resulting from the Corporate Action/Income Event.
Communicates with both internal and external parties, including trading desks, client service representatives, reconciliation functions and external counterparties, ensuring complete, accurate and timely processing in a risk adverse manner.
Prepares Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new processes and regularly updates these to reflect process changes.
Escalates all potential risk items to Manager on a timely basis; contributes to the development and implementation of mitigation or control solutions.
Works effectively within own team, sharing knowledge, providing support and guidance to colleagues to create and foster an environment of continuous improvement.

Adheres to Bank Policies and Procedures and drives compliance within the team.

Your skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) and/or relevant practical experience.
Have at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Working and good knowledge of all securities products in the Vietnamese market;
Have good written and spoken Vietnamese and English communication skills to interact with the local regulators, front office, operations peers, system support teams, productions support teams.
Should communicate clearly, have good presentation skills.
