Team / Division Overview

The Chief Financial Office is responsible for providing accurate, timely, complete and independent reporting of DWS’ financial position to internal and external stakeholders. In addition it is required to define the strategic agenda, including resource allocation, drive the delivery of DWS’ strategic objectives and evaluate and monitor DWS’ performance, providing information to drive decision making.

Divisional Control Oversight (DCO) is responsible for delivering a robust control foundation for DWS CFO through ensuring the integrity of financial and regulatory reporting, procurement, and risk management activities. DCO aims to provide thought leadership and independent challenge across the DWS control environment. DCO partners with stakeholders across DWS CFO and the wider organisation to implement relevant control frameworks that underpin the organisation’s core reporting processes.

Role Details

As a/an Busines Control Officer, you will :

  • Perform the validation and approval of control findings at various stages of the findings lifecycle, in particular the raising of Self Identified Issues and finding closures.
  • Support the design, implementation and monitoring of the DWS control framework
  • Drive a proactive and transparent control mind-set across DWS CFO through training and control related communications
  • Support DCO in various ad-hoc tasks including control meeting preparation and documentation.
  • Provide monthly reporting on key control metrics and issues.
  • Perform control deep dives and / or testing on areas of focus
  • Act as key contact and subject matter expert for DWS CFO control topics

We are looking for:

  • University degree or similar qualification
  • Controls experience in Finance, Audit, Risk, Procurement or other controls-focused area. An accounting qualification is useful but not essential depending on experience.
  • Project management skills and the ability to prioritise and co-ordinate various deliverables across multiple owners
  • Management and relationship building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for all levels of the organisation
  • Able to challenge existing processes and recommend process and control improvements where relevant
  • Able to operate effectively within a global organisation working with teams across multiple locations
  • Able to deliver consistent and accurate information under pressurised time constraints
  • Enthusiastic and results-oriented with proven ability to deliver results
