The role of CIB Operations covers a wide range of activities. Following the buying and selling of financial products and services by the bank, we ensure that each transaction is captured accurately and in a timely manner to ensure effective risk management, cleared, documented and confirmed, settled and reconciled, all within a tightly controlled environment in adherence with global regulatory requirements. We are split into 3 main sub-divisions:

•Debt Trading and Emerging Markets

•Markets Clearing & Collateral Management (MCCM)

•Regulatory and Control Cross Product Operations (RCP)

Your Responsibilities

  • The Operations Team Leader- AVP – Middle Office provides operational expertise and independent governance to achieve timely, accurate and complete transaction management for the bank and, where relevant, the bank’s clients.

  • Responsibilities include technical, transactional and logistical input into the leadership team to ensure the bank operates with the right balance of quality, flexibility, control and cost. This is achieved through collaboration across businesses and divisions in an environment which maximises control and minimises operational risk, whilst maintaining exceptional client or internal customer/stakeholder (as appropriate) service levels.

  • Builds and manages partnerships between internal businesses to ensure that the bank’s business objectives are delivered, comply with operational control, external regulation and continue to improve the bank’s technology platforms, as appropriate. Where relevant, they focus on new business initiatives and working as a team to ensure full front-to-back operational readiness for products ranging from high-volume vanilla trading through to highly-complex structured transactions.

Trade Support & Control

  • Oversee trade capture, validation, and exception management to ensure timely and accurate booking across asset classes.
  • Ensure daily P&L and risk reporting is accurate and delivered on time.
  • Monitor and resolve breaks in trade lifecycle processes (e.g., reconciliation issues, settlement mismatches).


Risk & Controls

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance standards.
  • Identify, escalate, and remediate control gaps or operational risks.
  • Partner with audit, compliance, and risk teams to support regulatory and internal reviews.


Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Front Office, Back Office, Finance, Compliance, and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with technology teams for process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements.
  • Process Improvement & Projects
  • Drive efficiency initiatives, workflow optimization, and automation.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects and regulatory change programs.

People Management & Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of analysts/associates, ensuring workload balance and high performance.
  • Conduct regular coaching, performance reviews, and career development planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Set clear goals and expectations, monitor KPIs, and ensure team alignment with business priorities.
  • Manage resourcing, recruitment, onboarding, and training for the team.

Your Skills and Experience

  • The ideal candidate for this post has a Bachelor’s Degree of Finance or Business course.

  • Prior experience in an Investment Banking or Commercial Bank Operations is highly preferred.

  • Proficiency in MS Office application is required.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential to the role.

  • Strong customer service skills, and good communication skills are also required.

  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team and a pro-active attitude are also needed to succeed in the role.

  • Has experience on people management.
