DB Index Quant

The DB Index Quant (DBIQ) team is responsible for the development and maintenance of a robust platform that supports the full lifecycle of financial indices and benchmarks—from design and calculation to publication and retirement. The team operates at the intersection of finance and technology, delivering scalable and high-performance solutions that power index products used across the organization. Working in close collaboration with business stakeholders, the DBIQ team embraces agile methodologies and continuous improvement to ensure timely delivery of critical features and enhancements. This is a high-impact team where innovation, precision, and collaboration are key to success.

The DBIQ team is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Developer (f/m/x) with strong expertise in Java and Oracle technologies. This role is central to the development and maintenance of a platform that supports the full lifecycle of financial indices and benchmarks. You will work in a collaborative, agile environment and contribute to the design and implementation of scalable backend systems.

Your key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Oracle for index calculation and data processing.
• Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity across complex workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, product managers, and QA engineers.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
• Contribute to agile ceremonies and sprint deliverables.

Your skills and experiences

• Proven experience in Java development, including multithreading, collections, and design patterns.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle databases, including PL/SQL, performance tuning, and schema design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and build tools like Maven or Gradle.
• Experience working in Linux-based environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good to have: exposure for front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular React), experience with financial data systems or index calculation engines, and knowledge of legacy system integration and modernization strategies.
