Details of the Division and Team

Trade Settlement & Confirmations Operations (TSCO) provides operational support to various desks within GEM and GFFX business including Corporate Banking, covering multiple products mainly Foreign Exchange, Precious Metals, Fixed Income, Money Market and Derivatives.

Primary functions performed range from trade processing, settlements, confirmations, reconciliations and reporting. TSCO also works closely with various offshore operational teams who forms part of the integral process supporting GEM/GFFX business.

Your key responsibilities

Trade Settlement and Confirmation Management

  • Responsible for trade processing and settlements for Investment Banking products such as FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Precious Metals, etc

  • Liaise and follow-up with Front Office on booking and/or settlement issue and ensure timely and accurate settlement of transactions

  • Ensure daily processing are in compliant with internal control policies, procedures and standards as well as external regulatory requirements

  • Close monitoring and effective management of trade confirmations to reduce outstanding aged items

Regulatory Reporting

  • Prepare, compile, validate and submit regulatory reports in a timely manner

  • Perform quality control checks to ensure reporting accuracy and completeness

  • Develop report automation and perform comprehensive periodic report review and validation

  • Regulators face off if needed

Process Optimization and Risk Control

  • Identify operational inefficiencies and propose automation/streamlining solutions

  • Maintain and update operational manuals/procedures to reflect current practices

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Liaise with Front Office, Compliance, Legal to address trade exceptions, client queries or regulatory related queries
  • Support Strategic projects and/or ad-hoc initiatives

Control related

  • If required, conduct control self-assessment for both processes or regulatory reports, KOD and checklist design and implementation

  • Where necessary, review operational workflow to stay compliant with internal policies and local regulations

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or related fields degree in Finance, Business or related field

  • 5-8 years’ work experience in investment banking roles and possess relevant product and regulatory knowledge

  • Bilingual in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.

  • Proficient with MS Office applications

  • Ability to multi-task and work in dynamic environment

  • Demonstrate pro-activeness, self-disciplined, self-motivated with ability to work independently and effectively under pressure

  • Control-focused and ability to multi-task and priorities work in fast pace environment

  • Committed and reliable with a strong sense of teamwork
