The TDI Engineering Platforms and Practice group own the governance standards for SDLC across the entire firm. Our tools and platforms are used by every single development team. Our mission is to provide a frictionless software delivery experience whilst safeguarding the integrity of the software supply chain. This means we both define governance and tooling to make it easy for teams to demonstrate compliance to those standards. We are excited to be embarking on a journey of transformation, providing a new governance landscape for our customers and require a Platform Engineering Lead to work within Engineering to help achieve our goals.
The role comprises engineering expertise in design, deployment and maintenance of development tooling, SME of the application in terms of operational knowledge as well as requirements. Working with the product owner, level 2/3 teams, vendor contacts and the engineering team to handle daily operational tasks and long-term projects. Typical operational tasks may include designing and implementing automation for application deployments, application upgrades, application and data migrations. Also understanding and adherence with bank policy and standards related to security and production release controls and working with the rest of the SDLC team to ensure full compliance.

Your key responsibilities
Work closely with the Product Manager and Product Owner to ensure efficient delivery, clear requirement setting and goals and a confirmed book of work
Working with Product Manager and Product Owner on architectural roadmap
Ensuring quality and timely delivery against demand
Management of the Engineering teams
Oversee the IT Asset Owner (ITAO) duties across the suite of applications
Ensure appropriate access is available for the engineering team
Your skills and experience
Strong knowledge of Windows, UNIX/Linux operating systems and networking/infrastructure as well as Web/Application servers (Tomcat/Nginx/Haproxy)
Strong knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes/Openshift, Helm as well as Cloud (GCP/Azure)
Programming / scripting for automation (Python/Shell)
JAVA based applications support, operations and troubleshooting and DevOps tooling administration, desirable
Working knowledge of AI tooling and implementation, desirable
