The Commercial Contract Manager (CCM) performs a key role within the Global Procurement function and is primarily responsible for managing the contracts and relationships with several of DB’s suppliers. The role includes building positive, collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal DB stakeholders, managing supplier-related risk, and ensuring maximum value is extracted from supplier engagements.

Global Procurement enables Deutsche Bank to optimize supplier relationships to meet its strategic objectives

The Commercial Contract Manager (CCM) is accountable for the commercial and contract management activities for several of the bank’s key suppliers. They will manage the contracts for the suppliers assigned to them, manage and resolve disputes and execute contract change requests together with the bank’s Legal function. The CCM is a key interface between the bank and a supplier and provides a focal point for the management of that supplier. The CCM works closely together with Service Owners (SOs), Division Vendor Management Offices (DVMOs) and other DB stakeholders to enable end to-end management of the contract lifecycle. They are responsible for implementing an appropriate governance structure to manage all aspects of the contract, the supplier’s performance and the contractual relationship. They will work with the business stakeholders to minimize risks, promote sustainable outcomes, reduce costs and protect the value of the contract.

Responsibilities

  • Build collaboration relationships with suppliers to extract maximum value from the relationship and identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to reduce supplier related costs and/or risks.
  • Manage, negotiate and document contact renewals, amendments and change requests in line with Procurement Policy. Manage and resolve supplier-related disputes, settlements and escalations.
  • Develop close relationships with key internal stakeholders to understand their requirements. Provide insights and support to the wider business on the suppliers within your portfolio.
  • Ensure that the contract deliverables and contractual obligations are tracked, actively managed and delivered through the appropriate supplier governance activities.
  • Perform annual contract reviews to establish that supplier agreements are fit for purpose and are compliant with regulatory, audit and policy requirements. Maintain DB systems to ensure supplier related data is up to date and accurate.

Skills

  • Procurement/Category Management experience with supplier relationship management skills preferred.
  • Have an excellent understanding of contractual structures, legal terms and conditions and commercial risk management. Drafting and authoring contracts.
  • Strong team player and effective communicator with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a virtual, global team in a matrix organization. Stakeholder Management skills with the ability to navigate complex discussions to remediate contracts in line with regulator expectations.
  • Negotiating and influencing skills. Effective Communicator.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
