Team / division overview
The DWS legal team is looking to recruit a legal analyst in Berlin whose primary focus will be to provide legal support in connection with the firm’s “Passive” range of products under the well-known “Xtrackers” brand.
The successful candidate may at times be afforded the opportunity to expand their skills to assist in other areas or projects to support the broader DWS business.
The legal team is a friendly, collegiate and dynamic team. We are looking for a team-player who enjoys working with lawyers and non-lawyers alike. An ability to build relationships with business colleagues and quickly win their confidence is of paramount importance. The successful candidate will need to be able to manage matters autonomously (under the supervision and direction of senior colleagues). The position also offers the opportunity to work with DWS Legal and business colleagues in multiple jurisdictions, including the US, APAC, Germany and Luxembourg.
Role Details
As a Legal Analyst (m/f/d) you will (be):
Working with external counsel and DWS lawyers in other jurisdictions to provide advice in relation to the legal structuring and documentation relating to:
the creation, restructuring and maintenance of UCITS funds domiciled in Ireland and Luxembourg;
the creation, restructuring and maintenance of ETCs relating to precious metals, carbon certificates, and crypto currencies; and
institutional portfolio management mandates entered into by DWS UK.
Providing support on areas of regulatory change and large strategic projects, with support of senior lawyers.
Assist in relation to the updating of offering documentation such as prospectuses, key information documents, and service provider agreements;
Effectively working as part of a team, managing and actively developing more junior members.
We are looking for
Legal degree, or equivalent. Legal qualification desirable
Experience in asset management and of fund legislation and set-up, in particular UCITS funds
Experience of working in a dynamic international environment and an ability to relate to different business perspectives and approaches to arising issues
Good organisational and project management skills
A practical approach to problem solving
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
Good commercial sense
Fluent in English, additional language skills would be an advantage
