Role Description
- As an Information Security Specialist focused on the Microsoft Purview solution, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the bank’s information assets, ensuring compliance, and enabling secure data governance.
- You will be responsible for implementing and managing security controls within Purview, aligning with the bank’s overarching information security strategy and regulatory requirements.
- Your work will contribute to the prevention of IT-enabled crime, unauthorized access, data breaches, and intellectual property loss.
- You will collaborate with stakeholders across IT, compliance, and business units to ensure robust, pragmatic, and scalable security practices.

Your key responsibilities
- Configure Microsoft Purview for enterprise-wide data governance, including classification, labeling, and sensitivity policies.
- Design scalable integration patterns and collaborate with enterprise architects to align Purview with existing data platforms and security tools.
- Conduct unit, integration, and regression testing of Purview configurations and workflows to ensure reliability and compliance.
- Validate classification accuracy and policy enforcement across structured and unstructured data sources.
- Implement automated governance workflows using PowerShell, Python, and Azure Logic Apps.
- Monitor and optimize scanning coverage, classification precision, and policy enforcement effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to scanning failures, policy misconfigurations, and data visibility.
- Support audit and compliance reporting through dashboards and insights generated from Purview data.
- Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, workflows, and governance models.
- Share best practices and lessons learned with internal teams via training sessions and knowledge bases.
Your skills and experience
- Strong expertise in configuring Microsoft Purview for enterprise data governance, classification, and policy management.
- Designed scalable integration patterns and collaborated with enterprise architects to align Purview with banking platforms and security tools.
- Conducted unit, integration, and regression testing of Purview configurations and workflows to ensure reliability and compliance.
- Validated classification accuracy and policy enforcement across structured and unstructured financial data sources.
- Implemented automated governance workflows using PowerShell, Python, and Azure Logic Apps to streamline operations.
- Monitored and optimized scanning coverage, classification precision, and policy enforcement effectiveness.
- Resolved issues related to scanning failures, policy misconfigurations, and data visibility across hybrid environments.
- Supported internal and external audits through Purview-generated dashboards, lineage tracking, and compliance reporting.
- Maintained detailed documentation of Purview configurations, workflows, and governance models.
- Delivered training sessions and shared best practices with internal teams through knowledge bases and stakeholder engagement.
- Applied deep understanding of financial compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, SOX, Basel III) to governance strategy.
- 5–10 years of experience in data governance, cloud security, or compliance engineering roles within financial services.
