In Data Architecture & Engineering we operate API management, scalable event streaming, and multi-tenant data service platforms that support payments, banking, and online banking for both internal and external use cases. These platforms are foundational to product delivery across the bank, enabling high-throughput, low-latency workloads for business-critical systems.

As a L2 Support/Site Reliability Engineer, you will maintain and improve reliability across Apigee, Kafka, and data platforms with opportunities to collaborate with platform engineering teams to continuously improve the platform tenant experience.

Your key responsibilities

  • Act as second-line support for incidents escalated from L1, diagnosing and resolving platform issues to ensure minimal downtime

  • Use monitoring tools to maintain availability and performance SLAs, while maintaining and improving runbooks, playbooks, and knowledge bases

  • Partner with engineering teams to deliver reliable, automated solutions, and support data pipelines, Kafka clusters, and API runtimes

  • Collaborate with platform teams to define and align on SLIs/SLOs, and implement SLO dashboards with alerting and breach tracking

  • Monitor burn rates and error budgets, and drive remediation actions for breached SLOs

Your skills and experiences

  • Experience in L2 support or SRE roles in cloud or engineering platforms, with strong skills in cloud operations (GCP is a plus)

  • Familiarity with observability tools such as NewRelic, Prometheus, and Grafana

  • Ability to write scripts and automation using Python, Bash, or similar languages, and basic knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)

  • Knowledge of at least one of the following: API management, Kafka, or data platforms

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
