The Accounting Close team ensures all transactions are correctly accounted for and provides a golden source financial information data set upon which all internal and external reporting is based. You will be primarily responsible for timely and accurate delivery of all financial and/or regulatory reports including financial statements, additional disclosure and statistical requirements, inter-unit clearing and other reports in accordance with IFRS and HGB for submission and consolidation to Head Office in Germany; as well as in accordance with applicable GAAP for local regulatory reporting requirements of respective location of the assigned Branch and/or Structured/Non-Structured entities. The Associate role involves oversight and first level escalation point of contact of Run-The-Bank production processes that includes Head Office Reporting, Local Regulatory Reporting, Statutory Accounts Reporting, Management Accounts Reporting, Risk Reporting, etc. He/she will perform quality assurance on reports submitted by the team to different stakeholders involving production processes listed above.
Close interaction with the Front and Middle Office, Country Finance teams and Operations as well as other support functions (Tax, CoSec, and Legal) is essential.

Your key responsibilities
The Entity Close Associate acts as the quality assurance owner ensuring an in-depth understanding and appreciation of the numbers and financial transactions of the Branch. The Associate is primarily responsible for the review of inputs to the financial reports in scope, covering data gathering, data polishing, data reporting, and local/regulatory reporting, as deemed appropriate.
Oversees the Head Office Reporting, P&L Reporting, Local Regulatory Reporting, Statutory Accounts Reporting, Controls (i.e. SOX, MRP), and Management Reporting of Branch and/or Structured/Non-Structured Entities.
Prepare journal entries including tax and local/HGB deltas
Preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for Head Office, Local Conduct root cause analysis and provide recommendations on corrective and preventive actions
Coordinates the production of annual financial statements under local GAAP (i.e. UK GAAP).
Works with control functions to ascertain whether new trades/transactions can be properly supported from a Finance view point.
Establishes and implements procedures to monitor, measure, and improve performance against SLAs and KPIs.
Acts as the first point of contact for engagements with the wider Finance community, taking part in initiatives to minimise duplication of effort and maximise efficiencies.
Partners with Group Finance Solutions Group and/or Infrastructure Change Teams for regulatory or business-driven projects in order to improve the design, operational effectiveness or meet changing reporting requirements
Your skills and experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Banking (Operations or Finance) or Audit, preferably Banking Industry with QA experience
Basic understanding of Accounting, Bank Products ( Debt, Equities, Derivatives), and Risk concepts preferred
With process improvement initiatives or project management background
Intermediate to advance skills in MS Applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Access)
Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (written/verbal), with organized thought process
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Able to work in fast-paced environment and keep pace with technical and operational innovation
Team-player and able to work independently and collaboratively
