Role Description
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experience Requirements Engineer to take ownership of defining business needs, capturing functional and non-functional requirements, and translating these into actionable backlogs as we migrate and build critical financial crime risk platforms on Google Cloud Platforms (GCP).
- The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the product vision, leading stakeholder alignment, and ensuring the robust scope and traceability of requirements for our team’s infrastructure and workflows on Google Cloud Platforms.

- The Senior Requirements Engineer is responsible for driving business analysis excellence and providing functional oversight across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure, including requirements analysis, development of product backlogs, and strategic administration of scope within cloud-native environments.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Leadership: Design, implement, and lead the elicitation, documentation, and maintenance of our business and functional requirements and workflows on Google Cloud Platform-hosted solutions, leveraging strong analytical skills to define platform needs.
- Stakeholder Management (Landing Zones): Serve as the primary liaison for requirements collection and alignment across 11+ independent GCP Landing Zone teams. This requires a strong technical background and fluency in DevOps principles to effectively communicate, negotiate scope, and integrate requirements from technical platform teams into core product backlogs.
- Product Definition Strategy: Architect the requirements breakdown structure (WBS), managing scope and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions using methodologies like Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall as appropriate.
- CI/CD Alignment: Collaborate closely with DevOps and development teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and traceable through continuous delivery pipelines using tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Compliance & Risk Definition: Define, manage, and audit complex regulatory and compliance requirements relating to financial crime prevention and data residency using frameworks like GDPR/FADP.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a critical business liaison, working closely with software development, data science, and product management teams to define product roadmaps, prioritize requirements (e.g., epic/story writing), and manage scope.
- Innovation & Mentorship: Stay up to date with the latest developments in financial regulations, cloud technologies (GCP), and business analysis techniques, applying this knowledge to improve our products and requirements processes, while mentoring junior analysts.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
- Strategic Planning & Development: Lead the planning and development of the product roadmap and requirements lifecycle to accomplish complex business goals, focusing on efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment with financial crime prevention objectives.
- Reliability & Resiliency (via Requirements): Elicit and define robust non-functional requirements for reliability and resiliency within all solutions across the delivery lifecycle (incorporating SRE principles for quality standards), and conducting comprehensive requirements reviews and validation.
- Architectural Alignment: Ensure requirements are optimally defined, traceable, and integrated successfully into complex, end-to-end business process flows, with a focus on financial crime prevention use cases.
- Driving Innovation: Proactively review requirements plans and business needs to drive re-use of capabilities across the organization and improve overall delivery capability. Participate in industry forums and internal working groups to drive the adoption of innovative business practices and solutions within the bank.
Your Skills and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5+ years of demonstrable experience in a Senior Requirements Engineer, Business Analyst, or Product Owner role, with a primary focus on the Financial Services sector or a highly regulated industry.
- Technical Depth: Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred) and DevOps practices. Experience engaging with highly technical engineering teams (e.g., SRE, Platform/Landing Zone teams) is essential. Strong experience with requirements management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, DOORS), documentation standards (e.g., UML, BPMN), and Agile methodologies.
- Security & Compliance: Strong understanding and practical application of security and compliance best practices in requirement definition, including experience defining needs for data governance and regulatory reporting.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and champion clear requirement definition across the team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, Finance, CS).
- Knowledge of cloud-native application development concepts (GCP).
- Experience with defining requirements for data analytics, machine learning, or AI platforms (MLOps).
- Familiarity with established business analysis certifications (CBAP or similar).
