Role Description
- We are seeking a highly accomplished and visionary Vice President, Quality Engineering Governance Lead, with 16-20 years of extensive experience, with at least 8 years in a dedicated Quality Governance role.
- You will strategically define, implement, and govern enterprise-wide quality engineering standards across our Corporate Banking technology landscape.
- This role is pivotal in providing strategic leadership to ensure consistent, scalable, and measurable quality practices within our Agile and DevOps environments, spanning multiple tribes and squads.
- You will be instrumental in partnering with Technology, Product, Risk, Compliance, and Business stakeholders to embed quality by design, accelerate delivery, reduce operational risk, and enable predictable outcomes at scale.
- This role demands a strong understanding of quality engineering principles, a profound background in governance, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse technology and business teams.

Your key responsibilities
Quality Leadership & Governance (Corporate Banking Focus):
- Lead the Quality Engineering Governance function for Corporate Banking technology.
- Define and enforce enterprise quality standards, policies, and control frameworks across all Corporate Banking programs.
- Establish a federated quality governance model across tribes and squads.
- Embed regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements specific to Corporate Banking into testing strategies.
- Drive accountability for quality outcomes across delivery teams.
Agile & DevOps Enablement (with Agile Governance Focus):
- Champion Agile, SAFe, and DevOps adoption across large-scale Corporate Banking programs.
- Define and implement robust Agile governance frameworks to ensure quality gates, best practices, and adherence to established standards across all Agile teams and ceremonies.
- Embed quality engineering practices into Agile ceremonies and the delivery lifecycle.
- Govern CI/CD pipelines to ensure quality gates, test automation, and risk controls are enforced.
- Enable shift-left and shift-right testing practices across the SDLC.
Testing Strategy & Automation Oversight:
- Define enterprise testing strategies covering functional & regression, API & integration, performance & resilience, and security & non-functional testing for Corporate Banking applications.
- Govern automation strategy across UI, API, data, and service layers, ensuring reuse of frameworks, test assets, and best-in-class tooling.
Metrics, Dashboards & Reporting:
- Define and govern quality and delivery metrics across squads and tribes.
- Establish executive-level dashboards using tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive metrics framework to measure the effectiveness of quality engineering efforts, including:
- DORA metrics (Deployment Frequency, Lead Time, Change Failure Rate, MTTR)
- Flow metrics (Flow Velocity, Flow Time, Flow Load, Flow Efficiency)
- Test effectiveness, defect leakage, automation coverage, and release readiness
- Quality gate compliance and adherence to governance policies.
- Return on Investment (ROI) of automation initiatives.
- Track and analyze these metrics to provide actionable insights to senior leadership for informed decision-making.
Continuous Improvement & Capability Building:
- Drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights and retrospectives.
- Identify systemic quality gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Build and mentor high-performing quality engineering leaders and practitioners.
- Promote adoption of modern testing practices, AI-assisted testing, and intelligent automation.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
- Act as the primary quality governance interface for senior technology and business leadership within Corporate Banking.
- Provide regular executive updates on quality posture, risks, and delivery health.
- Influence stakeholders to adopt standardized quality practices without slowing delivery.
- Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to ensure audit readiness.
Innovation, AI & Tooling Strategy:
- Evaluate emerging testing tools, platforms, and AI/ML-driven quality solutions.
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled test optimization, predictive quality analytics, and intelligent defect analysis.
- Ensure tooling strategy supports scalability, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Your skills and experience
- Experience: 16-20 years in Quality Engineering/Testing within Banking or Financial Services, with a minimum of 8 years in a dedicated Quality Governance role for large-scale, complex programs, preferably within Corporate Banking.
- Methodologies: Strong experience with Agile, SAFe, and DevOps operating models.
- Impact: Demonstrated success in driving measurable improvements (e.g., 80–90% efficiency gains through automation and governance).
- Technical & Functional Skills: Deep understanding of enterprise testing frameworks and automation strategies; strong expertise in metrics, dashboards, and analytics (Power BI, Tableau); hands-on exposure to CI/CD, test automation, and modern DevOps toolchains; solid understanding of regulatory and risk considerations in Corporate Banking.
Certifications (Mandatory): SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or SAFe Agilist certification is mandatory.
- Certifications (Preferred): Scrum Master, DevOps certifications, Quality or Test Automation certifications.
Core Objectives:
- Establish standardized, scalable quality engineering practices across all tribes and squads within Corporate Banking.
- Create a governance framework providing end-to-end visibility into delivery and quality health.
- Enable data-driven decision-making through meaningful quality and flow metrics.
- Reduce production defects, cycle time, and operational risk while improving delivery predictability for Corporate Banking applications.
