DB’s Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) function plays a critical role in protecting the bank, clients, and wider financial system from financial crime. Operating within a global function allows for flexible responses to challenges in the core areas of the bank’s AFC function.

The Financial Crime Intelligence Unit (FCIU) proactively identifies and assess emerging threats and risk factors, producing actionable intelligence to support the bank’s decision‑making. It conducts both proactive and reactive investigations across a broad spectrum of financial crime typologies and represents DB in key public‑private partnerships.

Your key responsibilities

  • Supporting investigations, producing clear scoping, high‑quality investigation reports and ensuring completion of risk‑mitigation.

  • Assess data from various sources, including transactional datasets, intelligence platforms, open‑source research, and network analysis tools.

  • Identify emerging threats and contribute to enhancements of the AFC control framework. Responsible for AI solutions to improve investigation quality, efficiency, and risk detection.

  • Maintain strong governance standards, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

  • Support the Intelligence Capturing Process and contribute to thematic intelligence outputs as well as support the UK exposure‑assessment and end‑to‑end case‑management, including triage preparation.

  • Engage with UK law enforcement and handle related intelligence exchanges.

Your skills and experience

  • Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with the ability to navigate challenges and adapt investigative techniques.

  • Degree‑level education or equivalent experience. Professional qualifications in AML or Financial Crime are advantageous.

  • Extensive experience in AFC, ideally in intelligence / investigations within the financial sector.

  • Strong assessment capability, including proficiency in data analytics, visualisation, and interpretation of complex datasets.

  • Excellent written / verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues to varied audiences.

  • Ability to build constructive relationships, question decisions with integrity, and provide evidence‑based recommendations. A track record of adhering to strong governance and documentation standards.
