  • Our Corporate Bank Technology team is a global team of 3000 Engineers (and growing!) across 30 countries. The primary businesses that we support within Corporate Bank are Cash Management, Securities Services, Trade Finance and Trust & Agency Services. CB Technology supports these businesses through ‘vertical’ CIO aligned teams and by ‘horizontals’ such as Client Connectivity, Surveillance and Regulatory, Infrastructure, Architecture, Production, and Risk & Control.
  • We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Director in Trust and Agency Services Technology to drive innovation, architecture, and delivery in a fast-paced environment. As a senior Engineering lead, you will lead by example, applying deep technical expertise in design, building and implementing robust, scalable, and secure solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform the ecosystem, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of technological advancements in the industry.
  • As Engineering lead, you will lead some of the major transformation initiatives retiring vendors or legacy products to inhouse builds as distributed applications on cloud platform. The role requires engineering fluency rather than hands-on expertise, the ability to ask the right questions, evaluate trade-offs, and guide teams toward sound technical decisions.

Your key responsibilities

Engineering Leadership and Delivery Efficiency

  • Work closely with engineers and develop best technical design and implement high quality software solutions.
  • Provide engineering execution excellence, as well as technical vision and direction, to ensure the engineering team is aligned with the strategy of the bank.
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure high quality code and adherence to best engineering practices.
  • Actively participate in technical solutions and provide end-to-end ownership of technology solutions delivered to meet requirements to realize both functional and non-functional capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.

Agile and Business Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with engineers and develop best technical design and implement high quality software solutions.
  • Work closely with business analysts, architects & other stakeholders to understand and develop the solution.
  • Lead the team to be truly agile in their delivery and deliver as per the plan.

People, Culture and Innovation

  • Mentor and coach junior developers to improve their technical skills.
  • Drive the strong Engineering culture and adopt the bank’s strategy into the team.
  • Drive the team to innovate and automate quickly using AI tools within the bank.
  • Leverage AI tools for automating any stages in the SDLC cycle.
  • Leverage AI to innovate into helping operations and business utilize common platforms into bank to help them scale.

Your skills and experience

  • Technical Leadership - Own end-to-end technical design and development of payment platforms, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
  • 18+ years of industry experience in software development and worked at Director or equivalent roles.
  • Strong understanding of modern engineering ecosystems (cloud, distributed systems, DevOps, data platforms).
  • Proven success delivering large-scale, multi-team initiatives.
  • Deep experience operating in Agile enterprise environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder, executive communication, and influence skills.
  • The candidate must demonstrate excellent software development skills in Java/J2EE technologies, Spring, and Spring Boot Microservices.
  • Candidate must have experience of transformation projects like managing retirement of Legacy apps to new distributed applications.
  • Experience with Open-source technologies, framework, platforms, and tools.
  • Experience in web services (SOAP, REST) and xml technologies.
  • Experience in database technologies SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL
  • Good understanding of SRE practices and tools.
  • Any Cloud experience is good to have
