Role Description

The focus of the role is implementing and executing the global operational security standards to ensure employee security, safety, asset protection and leading risk management practices in line with the vision and strategy set by the Global Head of Corporate Security. The Corporate Security Operations Lead (Bangalore) will develop strong relationships within the business, infrastructure and country management teams to achieve a trusted advisor status. This role will drive operational excellence with the guarding function, Physical Security Operations, Corporate Security risk and security survey programs by developing standards based on best practices. The role geography includes south India and Sri Lanka.

Your key responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for the development, communication and implementation of Regional/Global Corporate Security standards as well as other tasks including, but not limited to:

  • The role holder will act as a brand ambassador for the bank and the CSO-Corporate Security organisation at all times and therefore the role is expected to be always fulfilled with the utmost attention to professionalism and integrity so not to compromise the bank or CSO-Corporate Security
  • Be a key point of contact with respect to incident/crisis management response locally and leading the response for Corporate Security
  • Own and deliver strategic corporate security/CSO initiatives, developing short and long-term plans for assigned geography. Track and report progress, escalating issues to the Regional Head as necessary
  • Identify and drive operational efficiencies and propose innovative solutions contributing to the operational input for Rolling Capital Plan/Facilities Capital Plan/project planning
  • Resolve delivery obstacles and seek resource requirements to ensure success
  • Be the primary security point of contact for delivery of security related services managed by others (e.g. Global Real Estate Tier 1 vendors; confidential waste management; HR security content of training material; GCIO for information protection, etc)
  • Oversee the delivery of guarding contracts, ensuring accurate invoicing, the standards expected of the service are adhered to, the measurements and KPIs are implemented including monthly documented management meetings
  • Own responsibility for building security concepts and surveys (appropriate to the role geographies)
  • Ensure alignment of all Corporate Security policies with local regulations, including the development of local policies for compliance
  • Manage transport security operations and female safety programs within the sub-region of India
  • Foster and maintain relationships with local, regional and global stakeholders (including internal business lines, Global Real Estate, CSO etc.) to enhance organisational security. Provide support to Deutsche Bank stakeholders and contribute to global initiatives and operational requirements
  • Robust engagement with internal and external auditors and Regulator. Respond to Audit Actions/Findings, develop and implement management action plans as required
  • Represent the Regional function when requested
  • Planning, delivery and support to the Executive and Event Protection function for India events, partnering with the South Asia EEP Lead and Regional EEP Lead (APAC).
  • Events security management - partner strongly with Corporate Social Responsibility teams and other stakeholders with respect to any onsite or offsite events or volunteering engagements; similarly, with Corporate Communications teams and Country Management as required where senior leadership hosted events may occur
  • Keeping abreast of regional threats and risks which may impact the bank and partnering closely with the CSO Threat Intelligence function to perform regular detailed risk assessments

Your skills and experience

  • Tertiary education in a relevant subject
  • Excellent knowledge of physical security including manned guarding security with commercial experience, preferably in the financial sector (minimum 8-10 years)
  • Physical technical security experience (access control systems, CCTV and intrusion detection systems) highly advantageous
  • Military or Law Enforcement background within the role geography highly advantageous
  • Executive Protection experience highly advantageous
  • Physical security investigations experience in a financial services organisation advantageous
  • Excellent network in the security sector within the role geography and beyond. Connections with Government agencies and key critical national infrastructure organisations advantageous
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of vendor management, procurement lifecycle (RFI/RFP) management and contracts within the security vendor community
  • Robust decision-making capability, while adopting a collegiate approach to functional teams
  • Excellent briefing/presentation development and delivery, both written and verbal and strong analysis capability (English speaker)
  • Strong project management and organizational skills – ability to reprioritize as the situation demands
  • High level of self-motivation, results-based approach work ethic, and ability to work under pressure in a high-performance environment
  • Ability to meet key project and business delivery dates, often in a short timeframe, whilst balancing a portfolio of ad hoc/ongoing activity
  • Willingness to be available at any hours and to deal with active operational issues especially in a crisis
  • Ability to manage remote teams to ensure that task delivery and standards remain optimal
