Details of the Division and Team:

You will be joining a team of experienced lawyers supporting the Bank’s Investment Banking and Capital Markets division within the Investment Bank, with a focus on debt capital markets, equity capital markets, M&A, as well as general commercial contract negotiation, covering clients in APAC. The role will involve cross-border transaction management, general advisory work, risk management and policy and internal controls development. The team is actively involved in and contributes the development of industry-wide initiatives in the capital markets.

Your key responsibilities:

• To provide legal advice and transactional support on corporate and commercial matters, including capital markets transactions, M&A and general commercial contracts

• To identify, control and manage legal and reputational risks

• To engage and collaborate with global legal counterparts within the IBCM division and share legal know-how

• To stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the business you support

• To engage and manage the relationship with external counsels

• To control legal cost of the Bank

Your skills and experience:

• Qualified English, HK or US lawyer with 4-5 year PQE

• Fluent in English; Mandarin would be an advantage (not mandatory)

• Good knowledge of capital markets transactions

• Team player with good inter-personal skills
