Location: Bangalore, India
Role Description
You will be responsible for the Corporate Bank Payments production services team located in India and delivery of Site Reliability Engineering across the Payments domain. In this role, you will lead the following:
- Lead the Payments domain team in India, supporting the resolution of functional and technical issues with the wider support function.
- Drive Site Reliability Engineering and continuous improvement across Payments and the wider Corporate Bank application environment.
- Plan and deliver initiatives to automate manual work, application and infrastructure monitoring improvements.
- Have strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- Collaborate with problem management to drive functional resolutions and remove manual toil.
- Stakeholder management (CIO\MD grade)
- Partner with other TDI teams to deliver stability improvements and “Make Production Better”

Your key responsibilities
- Provide hands on technical expertise for a suite of applications within Payment’s domain
- Build up technical and functional subject matter expertise on the applications/platforms being supported including business flows, the application architecture and the hardware configuration.
- Collaborate across the team to deliver continuous improvement with an SRE mindset
- Deliver on the Production KPI’s and help drive initiatives to achieve the same.
- Identify pro-actively opportunities for automation and toil reduction.
- Ensure all knowledge is documented and automation runbooks are kept up to date.
- Team mentoring and coaching of the local team.
Your skills and experience
Must Have: Understanding of -
- Experience of Technology in large corporate environments, specifically in controlled production environments or in Financial Services Technology in a client-facing function.
- Site Reliability Engineering, automation skills and experience
- Understanding of SRE concepts (SLA, SLO’s, SLI’s)
- Flexibility for incident callouts (after office hours as well as weekends)
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Operating systems - UNIX, LINUX and the underlying infrastructure environments.
- Middleware - (e.g. MQ, Kafka or similar)
- Database - Oracle, MS-SQL, Sybase, No SQL
- Batch Monitoring - Control-M /Autosys
- Scripting - UNIX shell and PowerShell, PERL, Python
- Monitoring Tools – Geneos or App Dynamics or New Relic or Grafana
- Working knowledge of one cloud platform (AWS or GCP).
Nice to Have :
- Ticketing Tool experience – Service Desk, Service Now.
- Knowledge and development experience in Ansible automation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrix structures.
- Team management and program management skills
