About the business division

Private Bank serves over 20 million clients across 60 markets worldwide. The business has around 700 billion euros of assets under management and a combined revenue of close to 10 billion euros. The Private Bank is organized into two client sectors: Personal Banking and Wealth Management. In Germany, Personal Banking caters to retail clients under the 2 primary brands: Deutsche Bank and Postbank. In Italy, Spain and India, Personal Banking also supports retail, emerging affluent clients and commercial clients.

The Wealth Management segment offers high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high net-worth (UHNW) clients a broad range of traditional and alternative investment solutions, as well as comprehensive advice on all aspects of wealth management. Additionally, in Italy, Spain, and India it offers a comprehensive range of products to small and medium sized businesses, including investment and insurance products, deposits, checking accounts, cards and other payment services as well as credit and business banking products.

Overview: The role is aligned to the Strategy function which works closely with the global and regional Strategy teams for the Private Bank of Deutsche Bank

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the Private Bank strategy team on global, regional and divisional projects
  • Conduct analysis of competitors and macro / market environment covering quarterly competitor financial performance, key themes impacting earnings, industry themes/trends and regulatory changes; act as a knowledge partner for strategy team and senior management
  • Strong market research skills with the ability to extract meaningful insights, supporting the creation of storyboards and deliver clear, impactful presentations of analyses and recommendations.
  • Support in preparation of presentations for senior management meetings, townhalls, leadership conferences and investor day.
  • Support the annual industry benchmarking process liaising with external consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with strategy team members globally as well as finance and other functional teams across multiple regions; role provides wide exposure into Private Banking
  • Work on strategic projects e.g. developing new growth opportunities (organic/ inorganic initiatives), evaluating business performance, outlining business deep dives, developing case studies / recommendations / strategic options for business units, improving operational efficiency and effectiveness, and creating country overviews

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years prior experience in a strategy role, consultancy firm, private bank domain or corporate finance role
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel (absolutely required) to create financial models and handle large datasets. Sound knowledge of MS PowerPoint (absolutely required) with experience in creating presentations / pitch books presentable to senior management
  • Hands‑on experience of AI tools and platforms (e.g. Copilot) to support analytical rigor, enhance productivity, and advance strategic priorities across the Private Bank
  • Graduate with engineering from a reputed institute (like IIT, NIT, BITS, etc.) is preferred. Additionally, MBA, master’s in finance or equivalent qualification from a reputed university is preferred.
  • Prior experience in the banking sector preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work independently and in large global teams with effective prioritization skills to meet project deadlines
  • Collaborative and confident individual with effective verbal and written communication skills
