Job Description:

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. This role is for a Middle QAA Engineer within the Private Bank (PB) division at the Bucharest Excellence Centre, focusing on building world-class reporting solutions and ensuring data quality for core data systems and BI reports, with a strong emphasis on test automation.

The ideal candidate is a tester with growing experience, an effective communicator, comfortable interacting with stakeholders, with a solid background in testing complex data projects, motivated to actively contribute to Oracle-based reporting and excited to work on migrating to next-generation cloud data platforms and developing test automation.

Responsibilities:

Analysis & Planning:

  • Analyze business and technical requirements to gain a deep understanding of data flows, business logic, and system architecture, with a particular focus on database interactions and cloud integrations.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of the overall Test Strategy and Test Plans, while taking ownership of defining specific, comprehensive test scenarios for data, application logic, and cloud components.
  • Contribute to test effort estimation and proactively identify risks, particularly those related to data integrity, performance, and scalability on cloud platforms.\

Design & Execution:

  • Develops, writes, and maintains Test Cases to validate data integrity, transformation logic, and the accuracy of reporting outputs, including through automation.
  • Performs various types of testing, including functional, integration, regression, and End-to-End (E2E), with an emphasis on data and API testing.
  • Creates and manages the test data required to validate complex scenarios.
  • Rigorously executes testing activities, analyzes, and documents the results in detail, utilizing appropriate automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Java-based automation).

Defect Analysis & Reporting:

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and document defects in JIRA, providing clear and detailed information for the development teams, including steps to reproduce issues in complex data and cloud architectures.
  • Retest corrections to ensure defects are fully resolved.
  • Coordinate testing activities with internal teams, third-party vendors, and business users (UAT Support).

Leadership & Continuous Improvement:

  • Applies Deutsche Bank's testing standards and contributes to promoting best practices within the team, especially in data testing, cloud testing, and test automation.
  • Organizes monthly demo sessions to present project status to stakeholders.
  • Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of development and testing processes.

Skills:

Technical Requirements & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in software testing, with a demonstrated focus on data-centric projects and backend systems.
  • Solid technical experience with the data lifecycle for reporting, including:
  • Database Testing Expertise: Solid hands-on experience testing Oracle Databases. This includes:
  • Data Integrity & Quality Validation: Verifying data accuracy, consistency, and correctness against business rules.
  • Database Objects Testing: Testing stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views to ensure they function as expected.
  • Source-to-Target Validation: Performing detailed checks to ensure data is transformed and loaded correctly into reporting tables.
  • Advanced SQL: strong skills in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, validation, comparison, and anomaly detection.
  • Test Automation & Programming Skills: Solid programming skills in Java for developing robust and scalable test automation frameworks and scripts. Hands-on experience with tools like Selenium WebDriver, REST Assured, JUnit/TestNG, leveraging Java.

Methodologies & Tools:

  • Proven experience with Agile methodologies and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent knowledge of testing techniques (Black Box, White Box, System, Integration, Regression, Performance, Security). Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools: HP ALM and JIRA.

Preferred Experience (Nice to have):

  • Experience in the financial services industry, with knowledge of Wealth Management or other financial products.
  • Experience in coordinating UAT (User Acceptance Testing) activities.
  • An openness and desire to learn and adapt to new technologies, specifically cloud data platforms.
