Channels
Channels is the Corporate Bank Technology domain responsible for delivering Deutsche Bank’s next‑generation global payment initiation platform. The area is modernizing how corporate clients initiate payments in real time and access balances and statements in near real time. The solution is built on a contemporary technology stack, including React‑based micro‑frontends, Java micro‑services, event‑driven integration using Kafka, and a range of datastores such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB, all deployed in a containerized environment.
Corporate Bank Technology has embarked on a multi-year technology refresh program that includes revitalization of "Channel" applications for payment initiation. You will be working on driving the development of global payment initiation platform that has React based micro frontends backed by Java powered micro-services deployed in a containerized environment. The platform uses event streaming over Kafka and varied datastores such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, HBase, MongoDB amongst other open-source software.
You'll collaborate with other engineers on the platform embracing agile practices to incrementally add functionality to the platform, with a sharp focus on automation. You will partner with business and technology managers to define modules and enhancements to the application stack that provides Deutsche Bank's clients ability to initiate payments in real time and access to their account balances & statements in near real time. You will enable the digital environment that helps our people share their knowledge, expertise, and real passion for our business. Your key responsibilities
Design and develop new frontend functionality using TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.
Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, architects, business analysts, and global stakeholders to understand and refine requirements.
Build deep subject‑matter expertise in corporate bank cash management by continuously learning and exploring business specifics.
Implement user behavior metrics and journey analytics to improve product insights and decision‑making.
Establish test automation approaches from scratch, enhance existing QA processes, and ensure production stability through incident analysis and continuous monitoring improvements.
Your skills and experiences
Strong frontend development experience with hands‑on skills in React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Solid understanding of modern frontend practices, component‑based architecture, and building responsive web interfaces that consume APIs.
Familiarity with tools such as Git and JIRA; exposure to Redux is an advantage.
Awareness of CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, TeamCity, Artifactory) and readiness to work in an Agile enterprise environment with a learning mindset.
Interest in developing reliable, user‑friendly applications within a banking or payments context.
