About the Desk
Our Fixed Income Trading Desk is one of the leading market makers in CHF bonds. We operate at the center of institutional flow trading, providing liquidity across the full spectrum from SSA/sub‑sovereigns to covered and corporate bonds. Also, the desk has the mandate for market making in Scandinavian Government bonds. Join us as an intern for a duration of 3-6 months, period during which you will gain hands‑on exposure to a fast‑paced trading floor and take ownership of analytical, technical, and market‑driven tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with traders on pricing and liquidity provision in CHF/Scandi bonds
- Assist in covering short positions via the repo market; analyze collateral efficiency and optimize financing solutions
- Produce trading levels, quotes and live market comparisons; analyze market & flows
- Monitor RFQs, flow patterns and identify anomalous or unusual flow signals
- Build Python‑/VBA‑based tools to support spread analytics, charting and relative‑value signals
- Identify efficiency gaps and implement automated micro‑workflows
- Partner with Fixed Income Sales to align on client flows, pricing and market colour
- Prepare market commentary, trade ideas and client materials
- Gain direct insight into client coverage, flow dynamics and CHF market behaviour
Skills:
- Studies in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science or Engineering
- Allowed to work in Switzerland (Student with EU residency/passport)
- Solid understanding of Fixed Income fundamentals
- Fluent in English and German
- Technical skills: Strong Excel/VBA skills, solid Python - Bloomberg experience is beneficial
- Ability to structure information quickly and work accurately under time pressure
