Job Title: Lead Business Functional Analyst – Compliance Technology, VP

Location: Pune, India

Role Description

• This is a Lead Business Functional Analyst role in the Compliance Technology division, responsible for driving business solution design across complex, transformational programmes. The role requires senior‑level engagement, ownership of solution strategy, and end‑to‑end functional leadership across global stakeholders
• You will be responsible for reviewing regulatory requirements from across the business & functions within the bank against the Book of Work, including gathering & documenting requirements, assessing existing data infrastructure, defining high level implementation steps & creating business user stories for review by senior stakeholders.
• You will closely work with the Business Stakeholders, Product Manager and development teams to bring business and functional analysis skills into the development team to ensure that the implementation of requirements aligns with our business needs and technical quality standards.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end business functional analysis across complex transformational programs, ensuring comprehensive coverage of business requirements and alignment to strategic objectives.
• Shape, define and document end‑to‑end business requirements, target operating models and functional specifications for senior stakeholders.
• Translate regulatory, business and data requirements into functional designs, driving solution architecture discussions with Product Management and Engineering.
• Own the roadmap for business and functional design delivery, ensuring execution quality, traceability, and alignment with program governance.
• Analyze and assess impacts of business and regulatory changes across systems, data flows, controls, and processes.
• Design optimal target‑state business processes and oversee adoption across global teams.
• Provide authoritative guidance on methodology, functional design patterns, and approach for complex change initiatives.
• Function as the senior liaison between business divisions and technology teams, ensuring clarity of requirements and solution feasibility.
• Drive cross‑functional alignment across Compliance, Product Control, Risk, Technology and Business stakeholders.
• Support definition of acceptance criteria and oversee UAT strategy, ensuring delivery readiness and regulatory compliance.

Your skills and experience

• Extensive experience in business analysis, functional architecture or solution design within Investment Banking or Compliance Technology.
• Deep knowledge of trade lifecycles, regulatory reporting, operational risk management, market data, and reference data across asset classes.
• Hands‑on experience collaborating with UX Designers to translate requirements into intuitive user journeys and prototypes; ability to define, review, and enhance Figma designs during product discovery and solution definition.
• Familiarity with AI‑driven tools and workflows (e.g., conversational AI, smart documentation tools, automated requirement generation), with any AI programming or model‑integration experience considered an advantage.
• Strong data skills including SQL, experience querying large datasets, and the ability to work with data models, data architecture principles, lineage, and data quality assessment.
• Proficiency with process analysis, workflow tools, and requirements documentation (Jira, Confluence).
• Excellent communication skills with experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving consensus.
• Experience mentoring or leading analysts, contributing to capability uplift and functional maturity
