Role Description

  • Deutsche Bank is seeking an experienced and visionary IT Product Area Lead to spearhead our Private Bank Data Delivery initiatives.
  • This critical leadership role is responsible for overseeing multiple IT delivery squads, ensuring the seamless and accurate delivery of Private Bank data to key group consumers including Risk, Finance, and Treasury.
  • The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader with a strong technical background, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to drive innovation and foster a high-performance culture within a complex enterprise environment.

Your key responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Product Ownership:

  • Define and execute the strategic roadmap for Private Bank data delivery, aligning with overall business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of data products, from conceptualization and design to implementation, testing, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the timely, accurate, and secure delivery of Private Bank data to internal stakeholders across Risk, Finance, and Treasury.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, translate them into technical requirements, and prioritize initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively to ensure successful project delivery.

Team Leadership & People Management:

  • Lead the IT Product Owners within this Product Area.
  • Provide strong leadership, guidance, and mentorship to multiple IT delivery squads, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Serve as a role model within the organization, acting as a multiplier, initiator, and motivator.
  • Promote an active feedback culture and Speak-Up Culture within your teams and across the organization.
  • Your actions and interactions with your teams are guided by the Leadership Compass and the leadership behaviours defined therein; appreciative behaviour in leadership is your top priority.
  • Drive talent development, performance management, and career progression for team members.
  • Champion agile methodologies and best practices within the product area.

Technical Excellence & Data Governance:

  • Possess a deep understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, data lakes, and data integration technologies.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., BCBS 239, GDPR).
  • Drive the adoption of innovative data solutions and technologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with architecture and engineering teams to ensure scalable, robust, and future-proof data solutions.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Private Bank International data delivery within the group.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Treasury, Private Bank business lines, and other IT functions like Architecture and Operations
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Manage expectations and negotiate priorities effectively to achieve desired outcomes.

Your skills and experience

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in IT leadership roles within the financial services industry, preferably with a focus on data and analytics.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing multiple IT delivery squads in an agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of Private Banking products and processes, as well as the data requirements of Risk, Finance, and Treasury functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and drive successful product delivery.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A strong commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
