Role Description

  • Individual Contributor Role within US Rates Business Finance team covering Product Control and Financial control functions. This role is based out in DIPL Mumbai and will be reporting to AVP / VP Business Finance Lead.
  • Revenue control & Financial control responsibilities are segregated & well defined for each product / business lines. As a Business Finance personnel, the core responsibilities are to ensure accurate reporting of periodic P&L, Risk and BS based on sound business/ product understanding along with strong accounting & system knowhow.

Your key responsibilities

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely production of daily T+1 P&L production, attribution and analysis.
  • Providing daily commentary and variance investigation to Front Office traders and senior Finance managers
  • Break investigation and resolution in timely manner: Model vs Actual (Ledger) Cash, FO/MO system vs trade docs etc.
  • Balance sheet substantiation, i.e. obtaining requisite support for GL accounts in line with MRP policy
  • Production of various MIS reports within agreed timelines
  • Performs month end close activities- SAP journals, reconciliations, balance sheet substantiations and reporting
  • Performs QA function for processes within your team’s remit and regularly assesses the effectiveness of the checks
  • Engages with CTB/SME (Change the Bank / Subject Matter Expert) to deliver change
  • Responsible for ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures are reviewed for relevance and effectiveness on a timely basis

Your skills and experience

  • Qualified Finance professional - CA or MBA in Finance degree with 5-7 years’ experience in the core finance & accounting function of an organization.
  • Strong understanding of financial market products such as Bonds, OTC, Loans and Listed Derivatives
  • Very strong problem solving, analytical & commercial acumen required to support the business
  • Demonstrate Initiative and ability to successfully navigate a global financial institution
  • High level of motivation and energy; adherence to highest quality standards; ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding relevant DB systems required for the role or ability to pick up / utilize where not already there.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to work with financial data and use AI / Automation tools where necessary
