Role Description

Technology/Service is responsible for delivering the business vision and strategy, at a global level, focusing on achieving consistent operational excellence and client/user satisfaction through industrialisation, price/value optionality and leveraging increased automation and the use of technology.

Work includes:

• Creating a digital vision and strategy for the bank, and ensuring its integration with the organization's overall strategic plans
• Identifying opportunities for differentiating the bank's digital portfolio including capabilities and solutions
• Acting as a change agent in leading the organizational changes that are required to create and maintain the necessary digital portfolio
• Applying extensive knowledge and understanding of the evolving digital market, acts as a thought leader on emerging digital trends related to technology and business.

Your key responsibilities

CI/CD & Release Engineering

• Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins / GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps).
• Standardize build, test, and deployment frameworks across the platforms.
• Implement automated testing integration (unit, integration, performance, security).
• Drive trunk-based development and DevOps best practices.

Cloud & Infrastructure Automation

• Build and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / ARM / CloudFormation).
• Support cloud-native deployments on Azure / GCP / AWS (AKS / GKE / EKS).
• Implement containerization strategies using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Define environment provisioning, scaling, and cost optimization strategies.

Platform Stability & Reliability

• Improve system resilience, observability, and production stability.
• Implement monitoring & alerting using tools such as Splunk, New relic, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Dynatrace, or App Insights.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and implement preventive controls.
• Establish SRE frameworks in the platform.
• Understanding of the SRE core principles – CUJ, SLO, SLI, Error Budgeting based on NFRs

DevSecOps & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with banking regulatory and audit requirements.
• Implement secrets management and secure configuration practices.

Automation & Efficiency

• Drive environment automation, test data management, and release orchestration.
• Reduce manual deployment efforts and change-related incidents.
• Enable blue-green and canary deployment strategies.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with development, QA, architecture, and operations teams.
• Mentor junior DevOps engineers.
• Contribute to cross-domain collaboration and standardization of tools and processes.
• Support migration from monolithic systems to microservices/cloud-native architectures.

NICE TO HAVE

• Some understanding of ITSM process
• Any programming languages like Java, C#.
• Understanding of architecture and implementation of three tier web applications
• Experience integrating AI-driven automation tools for cloud infrastructure management and monitoring
• Familiarity with AI-based observability platforms (e.g., AIOps, anomaly detection, predictive alerting).
• Ability to leverage AI/ML for incident response, root cause analysis, and automated remediation.

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science Engineering, or related fields.
• 15+ years of IT experience with 8+ years in DevOps / SRE roles.
• Strong experience in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub, Azure DevOps).
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure / GCP / AWS).
• Infrastructure as Code expertise (Terraform preferred).
• Scripting knowledge (Python / Bash).
• Strong understanding of networking, firewalls, load balancers.
• Experience in production support and incident management.
• Experience in database technologies SQL, Oracle.
• Good understanding of SRE practices and tools.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
