Details of the Division and Team

Compliance protects the integrity and reputation of the Bank. It manages the Bank’s compliance risks and help to avert unintentional rule breaches and conflicts of interest. At the same time, Compliance also advise the Bank on ethical conduct issues and keep the Bank up to date on regulatory challenges. The General Compliance Team will receive, disseminate and follow up regulatory requirements, handle regulatory surveys, conduct routine and ad-hoc regulatory reports, coordinate regulatory meetings, etc. The General Compliance Team is the primary contact point with regulators for daily regulatory contact issues.

Your key responsibilities

  • Advisory duties: advising the on-going activities at branch level with respect to new and existing financial products and other bank activities, including not limited to watch regulatory changes and keep the management and business informed of relevant regulatory changes; identify compliance issues; assist Country Management or Business in preparing application package for senior management qualification or for new business licenses or permits from regulators; answer inquiries from Business regarding compliance issues.

  • Regulator contact: act as regulators’ contact to ensure that all regulations are timely accurately disseminated to all internal stakeholders and follow up with the implementation of such regulations, ensure regulators’ inquiries and requests for filing and reports are taken care of; arrange and participate meetings and conferences with regulators. Attend meetings called for by regulators as required.

  • Compliance Training & Compliance Manual: arrange compliance trainings if required.

  • Reports and inquiries: prepare and coordinate compliance internal reports and regulatory reports, respond to inquiries from regulators and internal management.

  • Inspection, Investigation & Complaint Handling: Coordinate regulators’ on-site/off-site inspections and investigations; perform independent compliance review or testing; assist Business and management in handling complaints from clients or reports on regulatory violations.

  • BCP: Ensure branch compliance BC documents are timely updated and periodically tested in compliance with group BCM requirements.

  • AML & AFC: Support AML&AFC works at branch level.

  • Record Maintenance: ensure accurate and complete register and record in place to house all regulations, regulatory reports, regulator investigation and inspection etc.

  • Other: compliance matters that may be assigned or delegated by Chief Compliance Officer of DB China

Your skills and experience

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of China regulatory system and regulations

  • University degree with at least 5-year working experiences in banking industry

  • Previous compliance experience is required

  • Computer literate

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong written and spoken English in addition to the local language

  • Accounting or legal background is a plus
