Overview
This role leads the engineering design and scale‑out of AI‑enabled developer workflows with embedded safety, security, and quality controls. It is accountable for end‑to‑end AI engineering safety outcomes, including Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) engagement, definition of bank‑wide safety and agentic coding standards, and the security analysis and mitigations that govern tool introduction at scale. The role owns critical‑path security assessments and embeds governance and control requirements directly into delivery workflows and operating processes. It establishes continuous compliance, audit‑ready evidence, clear accountability, and strong observability through logging, metrics, dashboards, escalation paths, and incident playbooks. The role partners with senior stakeholders to balance innovation with stability, translating engineering and business needs into scalable solutions while tracking impact through data‑driven KPIs across delivery speed, quality, risk, and developer experience.

What You’ll Do
Lead design and build of AI-enabled developer workflows and platform capabilities, hands-on where needed
Own end-to-end delivery from prototype and controlled evaluation to production rollout and scaled adoption across teams
Drive consistent adoption and standardization of engineering practices across teams (patterns, templates, reusable components, runbooks)
Ensure solutions are secure, safe, reliable, observable, and production-ready
Own critical-path deliveries for security assessment of tools under evaluation, including analysis of security concerns and mitigation strategies that determine what and how we introduce tools at scale
How You’ll Lead
Lead CISO/ Chief Security Office (CSO) engagement from the engineering side, driving decisions and outcomes and translating security requirements into practical, enforceable engineering guardrails
Lead bank-wide enablement of AI security standards as they apply to AI-enabled software engineering
Lead bank-wide enablement of agentic coding standards (safe autonomy patterns, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, approvals, and operational safeguards)
Own critical-path deliveries for security assessment of tools under evaluation, including analysis of security concerns and mitigation strategies that determine what and how we introduce tools at scale
Skills You’ll Need
Strong engineering background with ability to engage hands-on when needed (architecture, code reviews, prototypes, production readiness)
Proven experience leading delivery of complex engineering initiatives from prototype to scaled adoption across multiple teams/domains
Experience driving adoption and standardization across teams (platform rollouts, workflow change, practice uplift)
Experience leading outcomes with information security stakeholders and translating security requirements into enforceable engineering controls and standards. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across engineering leadership and control partners
Experience working within enterprise constraints (security, compliance, risk), including governance and audit expectations. Ability to balance innovation with stability, safety, and quality, using clear boundaries and measurable criteria
Skills That Will Help You Excel
Track record of delivering measurable outcomes using telemetry and evidence (quality, vulnerabilities, reliability, adoption, DevEx)
Strong interest in modern tools, with demonstrated experimentation and continuous learning
Comfort operating with direct access to telemetry and analysis capabilities to drive evidence-based decisions on approvals, guardrails, and scaling

The salary range for this position in Cary is $125,000 to $222,500. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
